Hey guys,

I'm going to be working on my first jointed lures and i'm looking for some advice on the best way / method to connect the two halves (thru-wire). I did a search and found some interesting posts, but what in your opinion looks the best and is the most functional / gives the best action?

Thanks in advance fellas.

A tight joint can be made by squeezing a loop shut, passing it through the plug, and driving it open with an awl/punch. But tight joints are not always the best. They are good when the plug is fished fast, but when the plug is going to be fished slow, a more open joint made with just a tail wrap in the aft of the front half, and a captured loop in the front of the back half works well. It has been my experience that allowing the tail section to swing 90 degrees to the front makes the plug cast much better than a tighter joint.
