John,

Not working sucks. I'd like to help, please don't take this post the wrong way or be offended by it.

The only way I can help is if you add a PayPal Donations link to your homepage I will send you a donation to help defer some of the cost for this website.

I just found this site and I don't wanna loose it, it's to great a place to meet new friends and learn the in and out of fishing...

If you don't feel like adding the PayPal link, please just PM me with an address and I'll send a small donation (I fish, I'm poor in $ but rich in friends)

Nils

Nils - Thanks for wanting to help out. While this is a major financial drag (losing the job) I'm not poor & detitute yet. I do have a rainy day fund that will keep things for at least a little while...

Now I've seen the Pay Pal donation bit before and I may or may not got that route (without tying it to any priveleges like some other sites) but we do have raffles here from time to time and now that I have more of that time, we're gonna have a plug swap and a fly swap raffle REAL soon :)

I'll get the pics up this week for everyone to see - very impressive stuff...

Thanks!

John

I forgot :wall:

You can use PayPal for anyone with a PP account. I/they can send money to any valid email address. So that can be used to collect the raffle money. I don't need a ticket in my hand, just let me know what my ticket number is. Then pick the winner at one of the 4 leg tournament days (after selling more tickets), that way there are witnesses around to prevent anyone from claiming foul play (fishy).
Start a sticky tread for the raffle. Anyone who have stuff to donate to the raffle can post it, anyone who would like to buy the tickets post a note then you can measure the interest.

How about running it like the rod raffle? That seemed to go well (except for the fact that I didn't win).

Here's the thread that announced and tracked this fund raiser.

Good thinking and I may do the PayPal thing too as that would make it easier :) ...

I still need to do some configuring here and I'll get back to this... Thanks :kewl:

Was there an "official" post about the S-B Donate link at the bottom of the page?

If so, sorry I missed it.

If not, maybe John could add a post. I think it's a good idea!
