So, new laptop is coming up... Planning on pulling the trigger on something on Amazon on Black Friday- might be able to save a few bucks. Haven't decided, leaning towards MBP.

But Buzz mentioned something in the Laptop Help thread that got me wondering- is there a certain date or time of year that's best to purchase computers and peripherals? Or is this (being black friday & cyber monday) the time to make ones purchase?

I'm going to need to pick up a few extra items, among them extra RAM, a SSD, and copies of Windows 7 and MS Office. Will the best deals be available in the upcoming two weeks?

Instead of buying an SSD afterward, get an SSD as your main hard drive if you can. Definitely worth the extra price and you'll never regret it.
