This was by Brother in-law's unit. They were returning from the Sinai and a 6 month peacekeeping deployment. My brother in law and a couple of his buddies missed the flight

Only 4 guys from the 101st that were in the Sinai survived this. The four guys had no wives or kids, and were asked to take a later flight so that married personnel could make it home in time for Xmas. This haunted my brother in law and his 3 buddies for a long time, and still does today. They are convinced a bomb was planted on the plane in Cairo.

That is some kind of cover-up for sure it seems.
Lost too many good people that day :(
I guess if the military wants something buried, then it gets buried. :hs:
Must be hard on the families I'm sure, even the first responders and other lives effected.

Absolutely.

I am reading a book right now written by a former Seal Team 6 Member. Seal Team 6 are considered the best of the best Seals, the seals call team 6 members Jedi's. He basically said that they didn't find the WMD's, because after Saddam's fall his intelligence guys took up with Al Quaeda. These guys knew where all of the WMD's were. They in turn told Bin Laden who had all or most of it move through Pakistan to Afghanistan and Tora Bora. In turn they started building dirty IED's and planting them back in Iraq. There are something like 600 documents talking about found WMD"S and Biological weapons that were in the Wiki Leaks documents.. Mainstream press, and the Democrats don't want people to know that Bush was right, or panic the public that dirty bombs could be more of a reality here. The book is called Seal Target Geronimo and is a very good read.

This is the guy who wrote it:

Chuck Pfarrer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Pfarrer)

I highly recommend it.

By the way usually when a plane goes down they reconstruct it in a hanger as part of the investigation. They couldn't wait to bury that plane in a dump.

I highly recommend it.I've read portions of it, and from a historical perspective, the book is severely flawed. No documentation, no sources, and also some bogus claims about himself being involved with the preparation of the raid to kill OBL.

Chuck Pfarrer left the Navy in 1989 to write fiction such as the awful movie "Barb Wire." Gotta remember that Disney filed to trademark "SEAL Team 6" the day after the Bin Laden raid. This little PR fluff is just Pfarrer positioning for his storyline.

Entertaining story.....but lousy history.

Where did you read that he had something to do with the planning, I have not read that yet and I am at the point where they killed Bin Laden already?

Really , you read the whole book? He dedicates a whole chapter to telling how he got his information directly from members of Seal Team 6 who were involved in the mission to get Osama. There were never any claims in the book that he was involved in the operation. As far as Disney is concerned, when Leon Panetta was promoted out of the CIA his people approached a Oscar winning director Kathryn Bigelow to make a movie for Sony pictures, this after being told by the WhiteHouse not to tell any stories. I think you should read the whole book from cover to cover first..

Pfarrer claims he is still part of the fighting SEAL network, even intimating that he was part of the bin Laden raid preparation.

“In the weeks and months leading up to Neptune’s Spear (the code name for the bin Laden mission), it was my privilege to help troops and platoons train for submissions and run parallel HVT (high-value target) missions,” Pfarrer writes.

That is called survivors guilt. Takes years to get past and is extremely tough emotionally.

It is their duty to deny everything, you think they want the world to know about Stealth Hawk choppers, or operational know how? It's called disinformation. Besides we can debate this else where, this post is about something else...

I loved Barb Wire.
Pamela Anderson at her motorcycle-riding, electric-tan, super-sized-breast implants, hepatitis B+, best.
And when she took off her helmet, and shook her peroxide locks, her hair always fell perfectly in place.

Actually, she's got hep-c. Whatever, it really puts a damper on one's fantasy life. Her career took a nose dive after she went public with that - bad move.

It's their duty to deny everything...unless you want to write a book about it? Something doesn't add up there.

What doesn't add up? That a former seal with ties to the community wrote a book, and after the ten different stories the White house puts out, his doesn't jibe with their last. So the DEVGRU always follows Washington, and discounts the book big deal. You do not have to take every word in the book as gospel you choose. Me I know the government keeps alot of stuff from the public, that's to keep the peace, and make people feel safe and I accept that. The book is still a good read. Bottom line the WhiteHouse should have kept their mouth shut about the BinLaden raid, let them go over the intel and see who or what else they could of got, before they let the whole world know. Instead a president with a low approval rating at the time wanted to boost it, and let it go public. Then in the days that followed many different versions were released by the WhiteHouse. We will never know the truth only those on the ground will. The bottom line is if you believe the Whitehouse versions, then the ones by this author, who was a seal and participated in similar missions, are just as believable.

If Obama wanted to cash in on OBL death he would have had his head cryogenicly preserved and waited, and taken it on the campaign trail so people could have their picture taken with it like Sox did with the 04 World Series Trophy.
