They look like hooks, but where did they attach the line, and how would it hold well enough to drive such a broad crudely sharpened point through a fishes jaw? Until they can explain that they are just guessing.

The truth will come out when they can determine if there were competing posses of tackle & lure manufacturers.... errr....

Just read the SCIENCE article on line. They have bone evidence in the caves that they were eating small tuna... they cannot determine if they were caught by hooks or using nets based on the evidence they have collected... They did make hooks from the larger fish bones so maybe they were trolling???

just watched the catch big fish show where they utilized woven
stalks of plants to create a "fear barrier" fence that helped the locals coral
schools of fish and then herd them into a circular walled up area where they
were easily speared with no escape. Very interesting
