So I bought a real good airbrush and I need a recommendation for a compressor. I have a Porta-Cable pancake that generates 125 PSI.

Problem is I'm always using it with nail guns, pumping up tractor tires, impact wrenches, etc. Besides it's noisy. I need a small compressor for spray painting detail on plugs.

Recommendations from the plug building sharpies, of which I am NOT?

I've done this also for a few years. I am planning on getting a harbor freight airbrush compressor

The small airbrush compressors work fine, and while not as noisy as your PC (I've got the same one) since they don't have a tank they're always on/off/on/off.

Might be obvious but make sure you use a decent regulator.

All the airbrush stuff I did was more fine art...but I'd think even for plugs you'd want to be able to dial the flow precisely.

using that will be like bringing a knife to a gun fight....takes more steady air flow then you think even for just detailing...I bet it's oilless too...meaning it'll die an early death as many of them do....having the air come into the air gun in short bursts will only make a mess of what your spraying.....stick with your pc......or better yet look on the RI cl..there's plenty of dual tank's for a 125. or under almost new if you need one or an extra...you'll be glad you did in the long haul.

just use the one you have
nothing wrong with that
add a water separator and put in in another room, close the door using a longer hose, have a regulator nearby where you spray. simple
