How about a random winter pic thread to keep things interesting? Post em if you have em...fish, loved ones, pets, boats, whatever...keep the fire burning until the first bright fish arrive.

Cutty clubhouse, Robinson's, and just south of Cannapitsett looking north:

45 years of fishing and this is the only time I've seen anyone do this.
An old timer cutting behind Pine Island in Woods Hole with his catboat.
After taking his picture I stood and applauded.

First summer my 2 sons actually wanted to go fishing. Beginning of August in upper Buzzards Bay, both hooked up.

Labor Day weekend down the Cape. Wind was howling S/SW and we were watching wind surfers down by Forest Beach, S Chatham.

Heres a few I have uploaded, I love having my waterproof digital camera on me at all times, always find myself shooting something.

First one is a sunset pic from Monday November 28th at Charlestown Beach, what an amazing day of fishing.

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee435/chefchris2/DSCF1254.jpg

This pic is of my old sous chef on the same day, he throws conventional in the surf which is just amazing to watch, he’s a great chef too.

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee435/chefchris2/DSCF1243.jpg

Block sunrise on our last day. Woke up early and couldn’t sleep so went for a walk before the town came to life.

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee435/chefchris2/img_1494.jpg

The three amigos taking a break on block while the wetsuits dry, our first block trip this year. Place is amazing.

Taylor aka Toaster with his personal best from this year, caught on a homemade eel bob.

Last one is of my dogs for the annual xmas card, rocky is a 6.5 year old lab mix and Kona is a 3.5 year old pit mix, both gentle and loveable dogs.

Yes it is. The ice mouse is the rarest of woodland critters. The smell of cigars can draw it out when conditions are just so.

This is one of Ty's friends ,never really fished before this day. We taught him how to cast a spinner the night before at my local pond..he had a great day. I could make a career out of being outfished by kids...One of my girl Julie and one hoping for something to happen.

don't make it to the Canal very often but it is the perfect place to take a kid to work on their skills and where they have pretty good shot of hooking a decent fish and then you can sit back and watch all of the funny faces that they make as they try to get it to shore:)

That looks like snow on the ground. When did you get snow? I'm in Northern RI and my grass is still green. At least it was when left for the airport this morning.

Sorry for the confusion ...... the pics where taken last year. I dont have any "winter" pics of this year because winter hasnt "arrived" yet here in Plymouth. although I think when its all said and done I think we are going to pay big time for this mild weather we've been having.

Heres a few taken in early November at Myles Standish State Forest (Plymouth side) on the some the controlled burns I manage for the State.

What kind of bird is this?

Numy That's a Manx Shear water. They nest on Isle of Mann U.K. and travel to South America and back every year.
I Forgot the mileage, but they put on about 50,000 a year and have been tagged as the oldest living tagged bird. O ver 50-55years.
If your trying to plug with a shallow running plug the darn things will chase it with there head under water as they pa dell with there feet.
I,ll bet you never expected such a long winded answer

thanks OG. George took that photo this spring at a hole along the islands and we could not figure out what it was. Pretty neat looking bird. I looked in my books and found that the shear water was the closet looking one but I was not positive.
