John that dell you sold me many moons ago spit some errors today on boot up, first it came up with a b&w boot screen that said improper configuration then when I shut power off and restarted it didn't come up with same error but it spit out a system battery voltage is low press f1 to continue or f2 to setup

It booted when I hit f1

This don't sound promising

All that sawdust works as a good (electrostatic) insulator but doesn't do much for heat dissipation!

Most of the machines in the shop have been "saltyized" where I tape all the joints etc and give the air one way in and one way out then seal those areas with spray booth filters cut down and taped in place. Works pretty well but there's alot of dust in there. Bad environment for a computer. Needs to have the machines built into filtered boxes. I haven't touched this one since the day I we set it up :D

That was a food running machine - like 6 years ago.

P4, 1GB, XP. Clean install & no pr0n will run forever. Until you blanket the chips in sawdust.

That machine is the best running machine in the shop John. That's like 2 years worth of buildup there :)

I really need to standardize on one computer then mount them in a box with filters. Funds aren't going to allow that for a while I think.

At least I'm keeping them fairly well backed up onto the zip drives. Trying to anyways.

I really need to have a maintenance schedule setup for this stuff though. I always blew this machine well with the air gun but never opened it up.

cr2032 is the battery number I got to get. That's a standard battery.

And hey if the thing blew today it's not a rocket machine so I throw something else together to make it run the program again. Doesn't owe me anything?
