Figured I’d start an actual thread on the plug bag and belt set ups. Seems like there was some interest in how people had the bags and belts rigged up.

Post your pics and descriptions here, maybe it will help some one else out with their set up or give you some new ideas.

I use a custom commando 3 tube bag, has a bigger front pocket which easily holds 4 big rigged eels or a bunch of soft plastics, the tubes 3” x 8.5”, had them cut a little taller than normal to accomadate taller plugs like GRS or big needles, bigger side pocket with extra drainage which holds a Gatorade bottle or 20oz water bottle, no rind bottle holder and no bucktail holders on the inside, big back pocket which holds my leader wallet, and double thick layer on the bottom for protection with extra drainage grommets. The tubes hold a lot of plugs, I usually carry 4 darters, 4 needles and 2 redfins and a jr, then some riggies in the front pocket. Plenty of options for a full night of fishing.

The belt is an Aquakinz Elite model, been using the same one for three seasons, extra thick and holds its shape. On the right side of the belt there is an Aquakinz D-ring which I attach a Princeton Tec Gadget Gear lanyard to to. I use this to clip on my reel for when I’m swimming out to a far rock or deep wading, a little piece of mind knowing my zeebaas and custom rod wouldn’t end up at the bottom of the ocean. When I don’t need it like fishing a beach, I just leave it in the truck.

On the other side of the belt there is an Aquaskinz Elite plier holster and a dragon tails lanyard attached to my pliers. Then a Cetacea Corp Hi force retractor with is connected to my Boga Grip 30, the other side hangs on another AS d-ring. Toby gave me that idea, I really like it, keeps the boga from swinging into you and keeps it out of the way. The retractor is strong enough to pull the Boga Grip up and hold it in place if you have to drop it. I used zip ties to secure the retractor cause I wasn’t sure where I wanted it, after this season it will be mounted in its spot with the bracket.

The other things on the bag are my Timex ironman watch, which also has a diving water temperature gauge. I like having the watch on the bag cause I hate wearing a watch and I like checking the times fish were caught. The thermometer is nice to double check water and air temps for the log. It’s really accurate and was only 4 bucks or so. Also I have a 4 foot piece of rope that is attached with a stainless steel carabiner, that I use if and when I went to keep a fish. It came in handy a few times this year when people wanted to keep a fish and we had a long walk back to the trucks.

One of the best features that I had made into the strap is the lined camera pouch. The camera sits right on your chest and has a d-ring sewn into the strap with is connected to the lanyard and camera. Makes taking pictures a breeze and I find myself shooting more pics cause I don’t have to dig out the camera.

I might swap out some of the d-rings and use the ss dive weight keepers instead and bolt them in place, now that I know where I need them.

I really like the bag being on the belt and using the shoulder strap, keeps the weight evenly distributed and makes for easy access now that cut the excess off the belt.
