View Full Version : Sufix 832 Braid....Reviews Anyone? FoliFish 12-07-2011, 03:13 PM Any reviews for the Sufix 832 out there? Thanks. Dennis BluesHarp 12-07-2011, 03:38 PM Tried the 832 early in the season and didn't like it, the usual wind knot problems. I went back to the regular Suffix braid and problems solved. That's just me and I only tried 1 spool of the 832 40# test. Maybe I spooled it poorly. That said, I've never had problems with the regular Suffix 40# braid. iamskippy 12-07-2011, 03:44 PM Love it, you get like 8% stretch out of it, no issues with wind knots jigging, i wouldnt plug with it, use the performance stuff to plug with. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Matt D 12-07-2011, 03:47 PM The 10# is supposed to overtest in the 25-30# range. I've been thinking of using it on one spool when every added yard on the cast counts. iamskippy 12-07-2011, 04:51 PM Its suppose to stretch 6-8% Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device cow tamer 12-07-2011, 05:38 PM Love it, you get like 8% stretch out of it, no issues with wind knots jigging, i wouldnt plug with it, use the performance stuff to plug with. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device So does the performance stuff stretch less ? iamskippy 12-07-2011, 05:49 PM So does the performance stuff stretch less ? To my knowledge, the performance. Version is under the old braid design, not the new stretch designs, pwr pro is coming out with a similar one as well. Several other compaines have made these hybrid type stretch braids already but are not widely used Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device piemma 12-07-2011, 05:59 PM Tried the 832 early in the season and didn't like it, the usual wind knot problems. That said, I've never had problems with the regular Suffix 40# braid. Ditto!! I had wind knot problems with the 832. Went back to the Suffix regular braid and the problems went away. As an aside, I discovered, quite by accident that one should not use braid on the Block. I had a lot of broken/snapped lines from the abrasive nature of the rocks. I now have 2 sets of spools for all my 850s. One set for the Canal and braid and one set for the Block spooled with Ande Back Country. capecodkid 12-07-2011, 07:38 PM Had 50# on a VS250 this year. I liked it, seemed to cast a tiny bit further than regular but it also seemed more fragile. No wind knot issues here. Not sure if its worth the price difference of the regular unless its come down since the spring HESH2 12-08-2011, 08:51 AM had been using tuff line braid with no problems went to the 832 and was as good maybe a little better.no wind knot problems with either line.i mainly throw jigs or bucktails so less wind knot problems.was using 30 lbs in both cases. JohnnySaxatilis 12-08-2011, 09:02 AM I used the 40# during the spring as well on my em pro, liked it a lot, just too expensive for fishing line, and closest tackle shops dont carry it on the big spool, you have to buy a 140yrd(?) little package. weaksauce iamskippy 12-08-2011, 09:32 AM I used the 40# during the spring as well on my em pro, liked it a lot, just too expensive for fishing line, and closest tackle shops dont carry it on the big spool, you have to buy a 140yrd(?) little package. weaksauce Its available in 600 yard spools Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device FoliFish 12-08-2011, 10:11 AM Thanks all, appreciate the input. Been using the Sufix Performance Braid for two seasons in 30 and 50#. No significant issues, but I have a spool of the 832 and was considering it. Winter time is setting in.....plenty to think about...hahaha. More like over-think about!! I guess if it aint broke don't fix it. Dennis JohnnySaxatilis 12-08-2011, 11:03 AM Its available in 600 yard spools Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device not near me right now. over the intranet i suppose piemma 12-08-2011, 02:02 PM Suffix 832 at Amazon, 600 yard spool $34.95 JohnnySaxatilis 12-08-2011, 04:42 PM well there ya go. thats way cheaper than they're selling it at said shop btw... Matt D 12-08-2011, 09:01 PM Suffix 832 at Amazon, 600 yard spool $34.95 Did they sell out? The only 600 yard spool I see at Amazon is actually a link to Cabelas. 80# test for $19.99 All the $34.95 spools that I see are 300 yards. MikeToole 12-08-2011, 09:46 PM Used sufix performance braid for last few years with very good result. Switched to the 832 at the beginning of the 2011 season and love the stuff. Had no wind knot issue except for a couple when fishing pencils. Held up very well in the rocky areas where I fished. As noted the 600 yard spools end up cheaper then the performance braid. piemma 12-09-2011, 03:38 AM Did they sell out?
