View Full Version : Local Mill
O.D. Mike 12-18-2011, 03:38 PM Hi all,
With all the talk of plugfest I needed to go to my local mill to see what he had for turning. I bought 6 planks 6 1/4 with random lengths the longest being 8'. Total cost for the planks were $30 bucks and for $10 more he ripped them into squares. Now all I need to do is cut around the knots.....
Cheers,
O.D.
Hookedagain 12-18-2011, 05:03 PM Is it pine?
O.D. Mike 12-18-2011, 05:25 PM Yes, easy on your tooling and easy to sand, takes sealer well and the fish don't seem to care....
The spooks I made last year did really well!!!

fishbones 12-19-2011, 09:57 AM Mike, you get that down the street from me? I noticed he put a sign out by the street. I'm surprised because I thought he didn't want people just showing up unannounced? Maybe I'll buy one a chicken coop from him and start getting my own eggs.
O.D. Mike 12-20-2011, 06:42 PM Yeah John that's the guy, I'm guessing that he's feeling the pain of a bad economy also... Remember with chickens, comes coyotes....
Bill, I have a couple heading your way!!!
striperman36 12-20-2011, 08:18 PM Mike, SWMBO won't let me have weapons. She thinks I shoot myself, accidently or something. I'm more concerned she'll realize the life insurance is a better deal than living with me.
