Thinking of upgrading my trolling motor to autopilot, because I'm getting old and lazy, but it's hard to justify the expense. My Riptide 101 lb thrust was new in 2008, had a new board installed last year, in excellent shape, runs great, 36V hand controlled and long 60" shaft. If I can get $500 I'm going to upgrade, which is a good price as new are close to $1100.

Have you checked to see if your riptide can be refitted with autopilot, some models can be converted.

Hand control models aren't convertable unfortunately, that would have been preferred to replacing the entire unit.

Bit the bullet and order a new one with gps, nothing wrong with original, in fact its a new board; the I-Pilot will help me when I'm out alone and want to pay less time watching my course. I'll have the old one available probably sometime in April, let me know if anyone is interested.

Any takers at $400, I've been delaying any advertisement until I have it off the boat, but its a good buy at $400.

Trolling motor is loose and ready to go, reducing to $250 which is a good price on a $1000+ motor and again new board went in last year.

I saw your boat at the the place on rt. 106 and figured you were getting it ready.

I wish I had a boat to put that motor on, i'd grab it in a minute, great deal.

Couple people interested and with similar questions, yes it comes with a bow bracket, picture of it stowed is in the link below, you need 3 batteries in series to power it, 62" shaft is adjustable, its hand control on the tiller for steering and power. Price is non-negotiable, either pick up or pay freight from Plymouth MA.

Decided I'm not going to use this. Ended up paying $225 so will give it a shot if anyone is interested. Gonna end up with a new boat (hopefully) with a new motor on it.
