Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device thefishingfreak 12-21-2011, 10:38 PM 1 is online the one with all the pics is my old pc I was hoping to just plug it in port to port and use the old one like an external drive?maybe burn them on a flash drive? I don't want to go thru a bunch of resizing crap I just want to zwumpppp them into the new(er) comp Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device spence 12-21-2011, 11:15 PM If you can get them both online you can just copy from on to the other. To link them directly requires a crossover cable that you probably don't have. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Raven 12-22-2011, 01:33 AM you can use/need a flash drive for that like an eight gig...plugs in Usb port hopefully the old Pc will recognize it then you just create a folder after copying pull the flash drive out of the old and plug it into the new in it's usb port fishaholic18 12-22-2011, 07:36 AM Or you can just pull the hard drive out of the old pc and use something like this: Newegg.com - Vantec 2.5"/3.5"/5.25" SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter - Model CB-ISATAU2 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812232002) Raven 12-22-2011, 08:58 AM wow! nice Unit Dave ...thanks for sharing mr IT man -LOL um........the chick said in the video "everything comes in the box"... [quote] but when you select the adapter... (way cooler than a flash drive) it appears that is all you get... striperman36 12-22-2011, 10:12 AM i have that kit comes in very handy Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Raven 12-22-2011, 10:18 AM i have that kit comes in very handy Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device send me a link to what you bought Bill if/when you get a chance... Thanks for posting it, i will be purchasing it. Is everything hosted externally? another words no casing? also do they have a fire wire version? Esata? instead of a USB connection? striperman36 12-22-2011, 12:38 PM no casing I justified use it to get stuff off the old drives Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device fishaholic18 12-22-2011, 02:02 PM I have this also...Love it.. Does SATA 3.5" & 2.5". Makes life easy for me. Newegg.com - Thermaltake BlacX ST0005U External Hard Drive SATA Enclosure Docking Station 2.5” & 3.5” USB 2.0 & eSATA (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153071) iamskippy 12-22-2011, 03:56 PM very nice Fish, thanks for the info, i wish the one that handles the IDE had a fast interface then usb. Raven 12-22-2011, 04:20 PM ordered! I HAVE some DRIVES THAT I NEED TO retrieve files from now i'll be able to do it the easy way thanks fishing freak & fishaholic18 striperman36 12-22-2011, 04:43 PM don't lay the drives on anything conductive when you are using them basswipe 12-23-2011, 08:09 AM This is going to sound pretty simplistic but why not just copy the folder(s) containing the pics to CD(s) and then take the CD(s) and put it in the new PC and copy pics to the desired folder? thefishingfreak 12-23-2011, 08:28 AM it's my understanding a cd will only hold, lets say 50 pics? of the right size. I would guess I have at least 1500 if not 2000. I remember going thru a bunch of crap with formatting discs and resizing pics. I don't want to do that 50 times. I'll tackle this after new years I guess iamskippy 12-23-2011, 09:11 AM Freak, if that computer is still running,( not sure if it is ) get it on line and upload em to mpix, or photobucket, this way you have then for ever, or facebook even.
