Why do we have to spot our opponents 10, 17, 21 points all the time? The D clamps down but not until we are in a big hole. This 21 to 0 stuff is not going to work in the playoffs!.

Hard to believe we are the top seed AFC team with a D that appears to not even show up until we are in desperate straights.

Go Pats

LOL...a D that shows up??? We knew going into this year that the defense was non-existent. Frankly they've done pretty good considering the various three and four offensive lineman setups BB has used. I'm beginning to think he really is a mad scientist. Now if we can just get Wes to stop giving interviews with Bonk Breaker hats on...LOL

:D ya that cost him 10 grand
Welker is 93 games with a reception and counting now
Gronk sets 2 NFL records today
Brady throws for over 5000 yards
Hernandez has an outstanding game
but the defense is lacking
oh well
Your right, he does mix up the 3-4 4-3 a lot, many nickles too
he does what he has to
maybe time for a D coordinator and time to get players who can last most of the season. We didn't have a great defense to begin the year, now with all the losses along the way they have to do the best they can. No Andre Carter who has been awesome this year(really sucks losing him), but we still have Anderson, we got back Chung and Spikes today.
The offense can make up for some of the defense but the O has to execute better off the bat.
It's the NFL, the other team gets paid too
I think if they end up facing the Bengals in the div. round in 2 weeks, we can get by them, but even hosting the AFC championship game will be a tall task to beat Baltimore or Pittsburgh. Time will tell.
I just hope Houston losses again next week so we can avoid the Steelers in that div. round.

I hear your frustration Saltheart, they can't seem to get off to a good start later on in this season. Time to step it way up:smash:

But oh, the sweetness of seeing the Dolphins send Rex and his poor Jet fans packing for the year..... As evidenced already over on SOL, Jet fans are left with nothing to focus on but hating on NE for the next six months. Can't wait to hear how the locals 'cheated' their way into the playoffs this year. You know they would love to have BB in charge of the on field product. It's also one thing to know you're relying on Brady to keep your various pieces in synch. It would really suck as a fan to have to put that faith in a Sanchez, or Romo.....

another edge of your seat game with a marvelous finish
but after that chumpster fake kick back play by the Bills
i wanted our points in the fifties.... nearly got there too.

I significantly prefer watching them have to come back to watching them completely implode in the second half which is how I remember them the last couple seasons aside from being dominated from the start of the playoff game against the Ravens last year.

It seems like they need a turnover or two in order to win.

The big frustration is a D that allows 21 in less than 20 minutes but then shuts them out for over 40 minutes. Why do they need to get in the hole to start playing? I could see if they just plain stink and allow two TD's a quarter the whole game but it seems once there back is against the wall they play some D. Trouble with that satrategy is that the O can't always score 50 points for you.

Anyway , it makes me shake my head (but with a victory smile) afterwards but it does put you on the edge of your seat during.

That must kick the heart right out of their opponents. One minute you're up 3TDs and the next you're behind and getting behinder. I've often wondered if it's the NFL version of the rope-a-dope.

BackbeachJake.........I love that getting behinder.

You have to admit the D line is rather disheveled. They have more people playing for them this year on the D line than they had actors in the movie "The Replacements".

Belicheck should have as an invited guest at the next game Gene Hackman.

I ALMOST shut them off....it's enough to give you heart burn... but I do agrree that at least you have a glimmer of hope that they can shut them out for 3/4 after looking llike swiss cheeze early in the game...

the Steelers are in trouble... i think they may not survive this week... Mendenhall is a huge loss.. Rotten.. burger is on one leg.. not good with the pourous front line they have...he's the most sacked QB in the league.. and that's when he can scramble... and they do not play well on the road..for me..it spells doom and gloom in Denver...

Ravens are the biggest threat...they are the closest thing to a complete team in the AFC..and they have flaws..

you're right about the Ravens Joe, but I'm not so sure Denver can beat even those Steelers, that is why I am hoping for a Bengals win over the Texans so we face them, then host the AFC champ. game against Baltimore.

I believe!

the beauty of your thinking Bruce is... you know the Ravens and Steelers will stomp the crap out of each other... hopefully we get a wounded tired team... i want the path of least resistance..

I think Denvers D is good enough to put pressure on Big Ben... my only doubt is if the Broncos have the Horses so to speak to beat the Pittsburg D

The only problem is spotting some of these teams a couple of touchdowns, cause they all have the capability to play as good as us or better. Maybe it's time to take the ball first if you win the coin toss, jump to an early lead. The D, and special teams plays better as the game goes on and maybe they will make better plays on the opening 2nd half kick off ..

why not some interceptions in the first quarter too
