21 minutes on the phone with 911 and the cops hadn't shown up yet? must have been in the boonies.
the guy got what he had coming to him, too bad for him but good for the woman who armed herself. If more homes were armed, then criminals may think twice before breaking in.

i wouldn't be surprised if the intruders read the Husbands Obituary

Ya know you can't do better than to have dialed 911, and then stayed on the line with the operator the whole time. I'll listen to that tape at work tomorrow, still have dial-up, wont load. Glad the girl is O.K. You have t remember to say all the right things while being recorded, like:don't make me shoot you about twenty times, and jesus lord I don't want to get raped or killed by these dopers, I have a loaded shotgun and I can shoot it. Please don't make me shoot you. Then blam.

If only the Mass Castle Doctrine gave us as much protection as in other states. Good for the woman.

I've heard of scumbags reading the obituaries and using them to take advantage of people. Read about a POS on the Cape that was reading when the service was and breaking into people's homes while at their loved one's funeral.

I was watching a show on the History channel about Wyatt Earp. They said that everyone had a gun in the west, everyone was running around armed. They said statistically there were 1.5 deaths from guns per year in the west. Think about that, not everyone was running around shooting people up, and everyone was drunk and armed...

When everybody has a gun , almost everybody leaves theirs in the holster.

There are some very stupid things you can do in this world. Walking into a a cave where a bear and her cubs are living. walking through tall grass between a lion and her cubs. Breaking into a house with a human and her baby in it while she has a shotgun in her hands.

Absolutely! These POS's were expecting an easy home invasion after reading about the young, single mother who is now home alone. I guarantee that they wouldn't have considered going for that house if they thought she might be armed. Because I travel out of town so much, this is exactly why I require my fiance to know how to access and use my pistol. One home invasion and a number of break-ins recently in our area - you just never know.

This reminds me of the jogger in FL that was mugged in a park and he killed the mugger. People were quick to blame the jogger with things like "why would he be out jogging with a gun?" Well, the dead criminal made the mistake of thinking the exact same thing.

In the wild, animals instinctively know not to go after other bigger animals. Well, these "Urban animals" are no different. They are opportunistic, attacking the weak and vulnerable. All these scumbags are tough guys when they are carrying a knife or gun... until one is pointed right back at them.

All she does is say she was afraid for her baby's life and she gets off in any court in the USA , including MA.

A woman alone with her baby shoots a guy who kicks down the door to enter her home? No way you get 12 people to vote guilty on that. No way , No where. Not even in liberal heaven.

a 55 year old man viewing plug porn on s-b.com, shoots the dude that crashes in through the door, to steal his Oxycontin, he uses to recover from cancer surgery?

Guilty of using unreasonable force, if he's dead. if he recovers the dude can sue you for using deadly force. Catch 22

I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6.

And believe it or not, people get away with it. Google shrewsbury police officer Stephen rice and mark ragsdale. July 14, 2006.

MA removed the obligation to retreat. Someone comes banging on my door and then kicks it in, they're taking a few to the chest. That's not to say that there won't be a long, expensive trial trying to prove that any reasonable person would feel their life was in danger, but between my loved ones or my freedom... I'll choose the former.

Regardless of the now defunked need to retreat law , you will not find 12 people to vote guilty on a mother defending her baby from a guy who kicks down the door. No way , No Where in the USA. Needing 12 guilty votes from a jury of your peers is one of the good things about the USA! :)
