YES!!!!!

Denver had 6 or 7 chances to win this game in regulation but fell apart. Then , in one moment , they win when I'm sure everyone said this game goes to Pitt in overtime.

Man that helps us!!! :)

Awesome day for Tebow and the Broncos. Tebows a class act and a good role model

Great call by Bronco's coaches. They bet LeBeau would put both safeties tight in the box to stop the run again. Troy P had been stuffing them all game long. They went tight one time too many... and Tebow didn't miss.

I'd rather be facing Denver anyway....

Ditto Ross....
Tebow tends to choke under pressure tho
But then again ....he has god on his Side
Brady had better go to church this week

Absolutely.....I think the Tebow Train comes to a stop in Foxboro next week

You can say a lot about Tebow's Game...but he certainly hasn't Choked under pressure.....the whole Tebow-Mania is because he pulls the Game out when it comes down to crunch time.....he's got like 4 OT wins this season....that's pretty much pressure

Pretty good game to watch. Must have been tough to be a fan of either team.

I think we're better facing the Bronos too

exciting game to watch.. not enough bad things can happen to the Steelers... they commit more blatant cheap shots than any team in foot ball and get away with it... glad to watch them melt...funny to watch the sidelines cry looking for a penalty on a good legal hit...

I hate the Steelers ALMOST as much as the Jets...

x2.

Best playoff game i've seen in quite some time. Extremely entertaining. Denver had that game won. Thought the fumble was gonna come back and haunt McGahee.

Should make for a great game Saturday. Not sure if it's easier or not. I picked Denver to win, because of Bens' injury, Mendenhall and Pouncey out. Pats should win, but they were saying that about the Steelers all last week.

WHAT? you had better re watch the last game he played the Pats
when he got totally intimidated from getting sacked 4 times in a row

I'm not sure if I'd put that game into the "Classics" category. Good game but both teams had issues. That defensive call in OT by Pitt was ridiculous. How do let a WR run accross the field alone or covered one on one with no help in the middle? I'll give Denver credit though they run the ball over and over again so they set that play up perfectly. Tebow made a great throw and he caught the ball in stride which gave him the chance to out run the pursuit. Pitt fans must be livid on the call though from the coach. Tebow is good but the not the next coming of Elway. That win though probably bought him another year as starter. Let's hope we create a nice "Hostile" enviornment for him on Saturday!

I think you need to re-watch the Game...he was only sacked 4 times the whole game....they weren't in a row....as far as Choking....he threw Zero Interceptions that game, he also rushed for 93 yards and 2 TD's.

I don't exactly call that Choking.

The Big Knock on Tebow is that his QB Skills are Lacking....he's got a weak arm and his Accuracy sucks.

His 4th Qtr/OT performances this season also don't lend to somebody that chokes under pressure......

Don't get me wrong I'm not a Tebow fan......The Broncos were winning mainly because their defense has been keeping them in Games.....but Tebow has been coming through for them when they've needed him to. So give the guy some credit

That defense is a 1 on zero read for the QB. Also referred to as leaving the DB "on an island" with no safety help. And while the game may not go down as a classic, that play will immortalize Tebow. Going to be showing that every year....

Exactly my Point....

But if Brady could run like Rothisburger did forwards
and throw a pass while running it would be awesome

Yep , thats one for the history books especially because it was also the first play of the first time the new playoff overtime rules were ever used..

There was less than 2 minutes left, they were down 18 points, and it was a 4th down play. He was just trying to stay alive to try some sort of desperation throw....game was pretty much over by then....wouldn't call that a choke either.....its not like it cost them the game

I certainly am no D Coordinator but how do you call that on the first play of OT? If Denver would have kicked a field goal on their first possesion would Pitt have gotten the ball? I'm not familar with the new OT rule. I actually like the way college does it better than the pros.

Lebeau was figuring his DB could play it the way he would have in his playing days...
Charles Richard “#^&#^&#^&#^&” LeBeau (born September 9, 1937) is a National Football League Hall of Fame defensive back and football coach. He is currently the Pittsburgh Steelers' defensive coordinator and is considered to be one of the greatest defensive coordinators of all time. He spent 14 years in the NFL as a player with the Detroit Lions and is in his 37th year as a coach. Considered an “innovator” and “defensive football genius”, LeBeau created the "zone blitz" when he was defensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals in the late 1980s.

On February 6, 2010, LeBeau was selected into the 2010 class of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The entire 2010 Pittsburgh Steelers team was in attendance at the induction ceremony

As for the playoff rule; if the Broncos had not scored the TD, and instead had kicked a FG, or not scored, Pitt would have a possession. If Broncos had kicked a FG and Pitt did not score, game over. If Pitt scores a TD after a Bronco FG or no score on their possession, game over. If Pitt kicks a FG to tie, or a no score tie, it would go to sudden death with Pitt kicking off.

But back to the Tebow discussion... I liked him as a college QB at Florida. He could get away without being accurate with his passes. But given the choice of young QBs, I would take Cam Newton over him hands down every day of the week. Better passer, and a run threat too. But in this pass happy NFL, with so many rules protecting QBs and receivers, I would give the young gun nod to the kid in Detroit, Matthew Stafford. That kid is going to be the stud when the class of Brady, Brees and Rodgers are gone.

If tebow plays like he did yesterday, he will be a formidable option. He's learning the pro game, he's not telegraphing his passes, not forcing the play, and he can run at the moment.

nightfighter
01-09-2012, 05:33 PM
If he's learning the pro game, they will be taking the run out of his gameplan... It is a passing game now, Bill. His QB option is going to be defensed just like the Wildcat was...

Ya, I like Newton and Stafford too. I like Tebow as a player, it's hard not to if you love the game because he is a tough kid and leaves it all out there. I do think however his "Pro Tools" as far as the passing game goes lacks in comparison to the previously mentioned QB's in his class. If Denver continues with this game plan eventually the league will snuff it out just like the wildcat.

nightfighter

Even if Tebow's passing skill set were to improve to, say the Steve Young level, he is going to get mowed down by continuing to run the ball. Young has 3 rings, numerous passing records, MVPs, +4400 yds rushing, and was forced to retire due to concussion syndrome. He had seven that were reported. (Marino had 87 yds rushing for his career....thought that was funny)

TheSpecialist

They were saying somewhere his release time is 9/10 ths of a second and the average release time around the league is 6/10 ths

BTW he is now an 80's icon
