sburnsey931 01-24-2012, 08:18 AM 9 weeks to Boat Launch.
If I told you it was 9 weeks to the end of Boating season you'd be angry at how close it was.
For me 9 weeks is nothing.

Mr. Sandman 01-24-2012, 08:34 AM I have a lot to do and have not started. I bought a bunch of boat crap and project materials but have not done a thing with it. Much of the boat is dissembled right now.
Although I would like to get some spring cod...I do not plan to be in early, I want to leave it out and work on it (again). Call me sadistic but I like working on boats in the spring, I am getting nearly as much pleasure working on my boat as I do using it. Once it hits the water I tend not to do much work on it. I will work on it until I the fishing is so good I can't take it anymore then I will splash it. I prob will not be in till june.
My history is that I buy a boat, work on it while using it for a few years, get it just the way I like it... then sell it and start anew. I do it again and again.:smash: There must be a name for this disease.
Typhoon 01-24-2012, 10:04 AM Lowrance fuel flow meter.
Trying to get this old gas engine a little more economical.
bassballer 01-24-2012, 10:58 AM It hurts to say this but I need to Fiance freindly the boat up a little. I need to make a bow cushion, and some cushions for the back compartments, install a stereo. When I got the seacraft i told her I would make it so it was comfortable for her to come out, then I just fished with it and kept it as bare as possible.
RIJIMMY 01-24-2012, 11:15 AM new to the boat this year?

fatcow 01-24-2012, 02:18 PM A buddy of mine bought me a scrub brush. He told me my boat stinks like S&*^. I told him i like it like that because no one wants to come fishing on a smelly boat. I think i will try it. I bought my boat for one reason to fish in and its maintance free. Stiffy ur always welcome to tag along but stay a safe distace away my boats not fiberglass friendly.

works awesome with my hds unit... easy to install 20 minutes max.
Either rebuild my engine control or buy a new one.
Install new cables either way.
Its a short list this year. But I'm sure more will be evident when i uncover. :smash:
Got Stripers 01-26-2012, 12:12 PM I have a 101 lb thrust MinnKota I-Pilot on backorder. My current one (for sale) works fine, but this one has gps, so it will spot lock and hold you on a spot, track lock and repeat tracks and directional lock; which will free me up a bit to focus more on fishing and less on boat control.
If anyone is interested, new board in my current one last year, take $400; 36V, bow mount, hand controlled, RipTide saltwater series, 62 inch shaft.
macojoe 01-26-2012, 04:32 PM i need new battery's, 3rd bigger bilge pump, new scupper flap's, and better health to even use the boat this year:confused:
i never even used the thing last year but 2 times:fury:
piemma 01-27-2012, 05:04 PM Well, I found out the problem with having a boat house. You guys will maybe remember that I built a 1000 sq ft boat garage last year. I have spent at least 1 day a week in it working on the boat. Aside from painting the bottom I am ready to launch. I now have nothing to do for the next 9 weeks.
likwid 01-27-2012, 07:44 PM Recore hatches and put in latches along with putting in a seal.
Re-bed shaft strut
New cutlass bearing
Simrad NSE8 (mid season)
Leaning post
Leaning post cover
Re-plumb livewell
Varnish teak
Strip bottom, shoot with VC Performance
Just a couple things. :D
Big Game 01-28-2012, 05:23 AM Install Garmin HD radar
Upgrade transducer
Install electric trumpet horns on hardtop
Install a larger compass
Install an electric head pump conversion kit (for the Admiral)
and then whatever else I find needs to be done after the shrinkwrap comes off (hopefully not much!)
likwid 01-28-2012, 05:30 PM Electric head = bad.
Go vacflush!
Big Game 01-31-2012, 10:49 AM Electric head = bad.
Go vacflush!
Given the option, I'd certainly prefer the vacuflush, but it would mean I would need to re-plumb everything. The electric conversion is cheap, pretty simple to install on my existing head, and will be more convenient for the admiral....and considering the number of times it will be used, I hope to get a few years out of it. We'll see.
