Thanks PaulS 02-01-2012, 02:32 PM it depends on the condition. Could be $100 - $150. Check Abebooks or bookfinder. I got a 1st. edition autographed by Post there a few years ago for like $125. Thanks Whatever someone is willing to pay for it...... vineyardblues 02-01-2012, 02:43 PM one on e-pay last week , do a search , I don't think it sold and it was listed for 49.99 , no dust cover stripermaineiac 02-01-2012, 06:49 PM I've seen signed ones go for $250.Bob was a friend so I got 2. Wouldn't part with either.Great read. ProfessorM 02-01-2012, 07:47 PM I got a signed one too. Good to see it's worth so much. stripermaineiac 02-01-2012, 08:05 PM Shame he never saw it's popularity grow. rickhern 02-01-2012, 09:27 PM My favorite book ever. We make it mandatory winter reading for Vineyard rookies. I bet I have read it cover to cover 20 times and I still love reading and learning from it. mrstriper 02-01-2012, 09:32 PM Had a copy but one of my great danes ate it...always wanted to replace though... Tagger 02-01-2012, 09:33 PM have never read it ,,, I'm missing out .. numbskull 02-02-2012, 07:12 AM Sauerkraut is mentioned in that book several times, and the father who was too excited during a blitz at Gay Head to notice his son being washed away is this guy :rotf2:. Tagger 02-02-2012, 07:23 AM Oh ... I think I did pick that book up at Cutty .. was just thumbing through it and read a story about Allan and Bob Pond .. (the mass maritime meeting and Noman's) ,,, is that the book ? numbskull 02-02-2012, 07:40 AM Eddy, I think that book is Striper Wars (Sauerkraut is in that as well). Reading the Water is much more of a fun fishing story book about the glory years on the Vineyard. Mr. Sandman 02-02-2012, 07:47 AM I have a few hard copies, The best one I picked up was a signed copy in near perfect shape about 10 years ago for 125 bucks. Just a few months ago I bought one remarkable shape unsigned for 35 bucks, I could not believe it. The best "signed" copy I have ever seen is Janet M's. Her copy has every chapter signed by every person the chapter is about (many with nice notes) as well as a nice note from Bob.
