I know there are diffrent size for jigs and depending on what they are feeding on. Was thinking of getting a few jigs either 3.5oz or 7. Butterfly like jigs. what would be the better one to choose

There is no finite answer to your question. It depends on what the bass are feeding on.

I remember years ago there were a bunch of us that fished the mouth of Narrow River, morning, Noon and night. Some days a 3oz Smilin' Bill was the killer. Next morning it was 1/2oz bullet jigs fished on an egg. 2 days later it was a 1 1/2 Upperman red and white stripe. You just never know. Not only what they are feeding on but the tide stage, wind, current, moon, etc.

If I am going out and am going to focus on jigs I bring an assortment of sizes, shapes and colors.

Thanks Piemma, I was thinking of just picking up some butter fly jigs. 3-7 ounces just to have in the tackle box

if you're in the boat, have both butterly and hammered diamonds from 3-10oz. that way you can jig bass/blues or be ready for tuna and cod also.
