Mike 02-16-2012, 07:23 AM Knotless tapered Flourocarbon leaders, I've never had luck using straight mono for a leader. 12lb is the lowest I would go and 20lb would be the max. derekl 02-16-2012, 08:50 AM i use straight floro 20 on the 8 wt and 30 or40 on the 12wt Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Pete F. 02-16-2012, 11:30 AM 20# mono or flouro, fluoro sinks better than mono. Charlie, The leader I start with is about 9 feet. When the leader get's down to about 6 feet I change it out. Whenever I use anything less than 20 pound test it seems I lose fish in the wash.
