JohnR 03-20-2012, 01:32 PM Yeh, worrying about the spawnfish and herring spawns too. zimmy 03-20-2012, 01:47 PM we were talking about that at my spot last night. Way too low. No snow melt to look forward too. Ugly bucko 03-20-2012, 02:06 PM One of the theorys about the YOY index is that in the big years the weather is wet and cold in the Chesapeake area. If it stays warm and dry we may be in for another off year. Let's see how it works out. GattaFish 03-20-2012, 03:05 PM been worried about this too,,, Finlander 03-21-2012, 05:41 AM How many of those spawning fish never made that far south with the mild winter? Raven 03-21-2012, 05:47 AM you have to dance around a campfire to solicit rain and it pays to have a bottle of RUM :tooth: careful not to fall in the fire.... :uhuh: my fishing calendar shows the most probable days for rain those are the moist days.... cancer scorpio and pisces are best for rain... should rain this weekend tho piemma 03-21-2012, 05:56 AM been worried about this too,,, Me too. My pond, which we built in1976 is down about 1 foot. It is usually overflowing in March. The Dad Fisherman 03-21-2012, 06:42 AM looking like rain in the extended forecast for next week. It is only March......April/May usually produce some rain. Ponds in my area are down...but not as bad as I've seen them in the past.....we'll be fine tradrodz 03-21-2012, 05:50 PM By this time last year, due to water levels, my early haunts had just become fishable with plenty of bass. I guess the same can be said for this year, the only difference is the only thing I'm catching is bottom. spence 03-21-2012, 07:02 PM I got new tires for my car and with a little spray they have that "wet" look. There's no need for rain :devil2: -spence thefishingfreak 03-21-2012, 07:57 PM No worrys, I plan on removing the shrink wrap off my boat soon. That alone should start about a month of rain. The one decent fish I had (probably @ 20#) broke me off on an exposed rock, that usually is a bout 6 feet under this time of year. Took me for a 20$ pencil.:cens: l.i.fish.in.vt 03-23-2012, 08:33 AM Mikey, there won't be any run off from snow melt. for the first time in all my years here in VT,there is abosultly no snow left on the ground.not even the piles that are made by the snow plows, that will usually last into may. Sugarbush,my local ski area is down to a couple of trails for probably the last weekend of the year.that would be almost 6 weeks earlier than normal.looks like i will be heading to the cape sooner than i want.just hope the fish arrive sooner.
