I have been on a major herring coloration kick this spring. I'm curious as to what other variations others use for their versions. I'm liking the light blue base coat with either a grape pearl or plum back and either no scales or light pink scales. Lets see others takes on this pattern

I just did some today,

Val spar baby blue on top, Val spar hot pink on sides and white belly,

Then the whole thing sprayed with Val spar pink pearl.

Looks great.

Will post some pics once their dry enough.

You could do something like this, pardon the mess on the lower plug, flipped off the spinner :wall:

or just look down at the Pikie

I've been digging the green back herring with scales and off white belly.

After the show yesterday, we stopped at the Middleboro/Lakeville run and watched the herring for a while. It was really cool to see them up that close and the kids loved it. I could have stayed there and watched all day myself.

these are the 2 schemes I'm getting hung up on right now as a herring, but it's always nice to see variability in others interpretations.:uhuh:

Here's my version.

These are done with spray paint only.

White base coat.

Then pink sides

Then baby blue back

Then another coat of white on the belly.

Then last coat is Val spar punk pearl over the whole plug.

Still needs epoxy. But looks great in the sun and I'm digging the retro eyes

Most of my herring patterns are white of silver bellies, a hint( some stronger than others) of pink on the sides, light blue fading to dark blue back.. some have siver scaling..others do not...most are slim profiles..
