I wonder how good the movie is, compared to the books?

I have the series on paperback and was interested in how the movie fared.

I used to read the books when I was a kid....I've been wanting to see this....but it just got rated as the Biggest Box Office Flop...EVER.

Very Dissapointing....I'll probably wait til it comes out on DVD.....unless I get some good feedback from people

2nd hand info, but a guy I work (a BC guy, but still a good guy :rotf2: ) said the movie kicked ass, he said if your kids like sci-fi, it's a must see.

I think disney produced anything inadvertently puts the wussy tag on it.

i heard it was good and think the flop was due to marketing. Its not kiddie enough and not voilent enough for teens.
I'll wait for dvd.

wicked under-rated! Lots of violence for a disney flick, ppl gettin shot, stabbed, slashed, decapitated, ripped in half. great special effects obviously. I think you're right, the disney tag throws ppl off big time, but I had a suspicion this movie was guna be sneaky good :uhuh: I'll give it a solid B. not amazing, but deffinately entertaining

Read the books as a kid. The movie kicks ass in the expected Victorian novel sci-fi way.

Just watched this with my son last weekend and he really liked it. I thought it was much better than I expected and I'm not much of a Sci Fi guy.

Not a bad story from the same guy that wrote the "Tarzan, Lord of the Apes" series.
