Finally sold the old war wagon and now left with its shadow on the driveway that the wife is p.o'd about.

Any advice on how to get rid of oil, power steering fluid, and brake fluid stains on an asphalt driveway?

Started 3 years ago of dripping and soaking in.

Tried power washing it. No dice.
Would Speedy dry spread on it and allowed to sit for a while soak some of it out?
Perhaps Simple Green and a deck brush?
Or some type of better cleaner that is safe to soak into my yard after I wash it off so as not to contaminate my well?

I tried power washing

X2 on dish detergent, dawn or Palmolive. You wont get it out completely though. Get scrubbing!

I spent last Saturday and Sunday spraying every brand of penetrating oil known to man into the tilt tube of my boat and beating the end of the seized cable steering (I hate cable steering!!!!) with a 3# sledge. The end result was steering that now works:biglaugh: and three cans worth of lube running down my 3 year old driveway.:smash:

I poured a straight Simple Green on the area, brushed it in, waited 10 minutes, and rinsed... oils are GONE!

I like to forget last weekend!!!!!

There is an additive to use with a power washer. Put the pick up tube right in the bottle and use as normal. Supposed to rid oil stains. Seen it in the Northern Tool book and I thing Hobor Frieght has it too.

Speedy-dry spread on and changed after it gets wet or you could try peat moss from a plastic container (only)if it is dry. Keep changing the dressing and it should suck up any that hasn't struck into the pavement.

You guys are missing the point.... It's the wife who is PO'd. He's toast... That wagon has been leaking for awhile. What would be an acceptable result in our eyes likely won't pass muster. She will see it until Mike gets it repaved or seals the whole driveway....
