Mr. Sandman 04-07-2012, 05:40 AM That's a real shame. Fantastic fisherman, guide and outdoors enthusiast.
Big fan of his shows, not so much how to but he always made you feel you were coming along on an adventure with him.
I know he was into building kit planes and according to one of the articles that was the one that crashed.
Man that really sucks.
pbadad 04-07-2012, 05:57 AM Wow I'm floored. One of the first in recent years I enjoy watching. As Sandman said, his shows make you feel like you're along side of him fishing. He will be missed. RIP
Mr. Sandman 04-07-2012, 08:29 AM I hope the Outdoor network does a special tribute to the guy sometime in the near future. I would like to see highlights of special episodes and interviews with a few of his buds. He certainly deserves it.
JohnR 04-07-2012, 09:57 AM Wow. He was one of the best at bringing you with him. Always smiling, respectful of others, great angler, great man. One of the few shows that was always great to watch.

Slipknot 04-08-2012, 06:30 AM He will be missed, very sad news. He was the best at what he did, my favorite fishing TV show host. I got the news late Friday night from my wife as she saw mike Thomas posted something about it :( I was bummed.
RIP Jose
Steve K 04-08-2012, 07:36 AM Very sad. I echo others that his show was my favorite and he had a knack for making you feel like you were on board. What a life he led.

jimmy z 04-08-2012, 08:09 AM It is sad news about Jose. May he rest in peace. God be with his family at this time of sorrow!
Rockfish9 04-09-2012, 06:16 AM I'm not into watching fishing shows... they for the most part bore me... mostly because , I'd rather be there myself rather than watch it.. but.. IMHO, the Spannish fly was one of the best series ever produced... I enjoyed watching Jose fish, his enthusiasim when catching fish of any size... he took time to explain why and how...on one of his series, he took time to explain how to fine tune a Lowrance fish finder...it changed the way i use mine forever..
the fishing kingdome has lost a great embassador, RIP Jose. you and your contributions will not be forgotten..
JFigliuolo 04-09-2012, 07:43 AM ...
I know he was into building kit planes and according to one of the articles that was the one that crashed.
Man that really sucks.
I lost a friend the same way a few years back.
RIJIMMY 04-09-2012, 10:16 AM anyone see the episode where a hooked tarpon ran under a bridge, Jose pulled off his clothes and grabbed the rod, swam under the bridge with the rod, boat came around and picked him up and they landed the fish, it was a riot.
