Let me start of by saying thanks to everyone. This would not be possible without everyone's help.
Also I have to say a HUGE thank you to Tom. Tom has been behind me with the fundraising since I started and was actually one of the first companies to back me. This trip would not be even close to possible without him. And I can't forget some of the other donations he has helped out with.

My company matches charitable donations. Is it fair to believe that if I bid $1,000 and my company matches $1,000, then the total bid would count as $2,000. Is that an accurate assessment? Thank you.

To keep the playing field fair, I would say that company matches - while highly encouraged (and grateful) would not count towards the total but they would get a hearty thank you and big props from the community - in addition to you :btu:

I have to agree with JohnR. Although appealing as it may be and the thoughtfulness of the company and the bidder, I think it is only fair that company bids not be counted towards the total in the bid.

Of course they can still match and make the donation above and beyond the personal bid if that particular bidder wins.

And we'll promote that company here & on FFS as well ;)

never been to block but ironically have a trip planned that week-I would not need a place to stay but like the idea of being able to fish with block sharpies and more importantly help out a worthy cause-would it be cool to bid knowing I would not being stay with the crew but would enjoy some guided fishing in unfamilar waters ?

Eric,,,, we will have dinner every night except with me it will be nothing special and is usually more like a late lunch just in case you need a power nap before we go fish.

Frank will do something a little more elaborate than I will but I still might make him use paper plates.....

Trust me if I do my job on this trip the last thing the winning bidder will care about is eating......

I also can't emphasize enough how important it is to come rested....
