Who else is going to be watching the NFL draft tomorrow night? I'm wholly obsessed with it.

The Eagles have been linked with DTs and DEs mainly, so they'll probably end up going after a corner or a QB. Can never tell where their selections will go.

What do the Pats need? Who do you think they'll end up selecting with the two first rounders? Or will BB trade back and pick up 15 6th and 7th rounders?

I wish the Pats could trade up and get that stud WR Blackmon....but he will be long gone.

I am not a nut about it, but I will pay attention to it being a football fan

Pats will get Dbacks as usual
I hope they do well with what they have and I'm sure they will

Pats should trade all their draft picks & Tom Brady to the Giants for Eli Manning.
The certainly can't beat him so may as well get him on their side :rotf2:

In the Past 15 years the Pats have played in 25 Play-off Games going 17-8 including winning 3 Superbowls and playing in 2 others

The Raiders have played in 7 Play-off Games going 4-3, they lost there only Superbowl appearance in a laugher to the Tampa Bay bucs

I'm offering reality.
Pats can't beat Eli so trade for him.
Brady's better days are in the rear view mirror.

Rear View Mirror.......the dude just put up the 2nd most passing yards in a season by a quarterback...EVER.

If it wasn't for Brees.....he'd have been the one that broke Marino's Record.

He also had 39 TD's last season.

I think he's still got a couple of more good years

The entertaining thing about watching the draft as an Eagles/Pats fan is that the organizations are incredibly secretive about their selections. Both teams put out so many smokescreens. The Eagles haven't had a first round pick in for a workout in the past five years, I believe. This is unlike teams like the Raiders which have a draft board set by 40 times (see DHB). Also, both teams are quite mobile- never know when they're going to move up or down. Interesting fact- Belichick and Reid have made a trade during every draft for as long as he's been a coach in NE. Last year BB traded the 193rd pick to the Eagles for the 194th (too funny). So fully expect them to do some dealing, starting tonight.

That being said I wholly expect the Eagles to go defense on the pick... They could use another corner for depth, their under tackle position is thin, and linebacker is obviously a concern. Fletcher Cox or Kuechly would be ideal, but I would be very happy if Claiborne falls a bit and they could trade up to 7 and snag him. I want nothing to do with Mark Barron, Chandler Jones or Dontari Poe at pick 15, who I see mocked quite often. I would also like to see them package a second round pick to move up into the late half of the first to get Coby Fleener... The success of Jimmy Graham, Gronk, Aaron Hernandez (etc) has shown how the two TE set is becoming quite productive in the NFL. Fleener is a huge RZ threat, something the Eagles really need.

The Pats I can see targeting DB, OLB or OL... Barron would be good at 27 or 31, as well as Shea McClellin, Silatolu, or Whitney Mercelius. I don't see them having the ammo to move up to the top ten unless they give up a number of second rounders, which doesn't really make sense in this draft. The drop off from the top six picks is pretty big, and lots of value is there in the second and third. But if Blackmon starts to fall, then they might think it's worth the risk. And like I said before, a trade with Philly for 27 or 31 is a very real possibility.
