MarineFisheries has reviewed the potential to take action to close or constrain the May 2012 commercial black sea bass fishery to ensure commercial quota is available for the summer months and has determined there are insufficient remedies. Consequently, there is the potential for the May fishery to take the entire annual quota, eliminating the opportunity for a summer fishery. T

I bet the recreational guys get screwed here! this why I don't buy rec lic, they let this happen then tell the rec guys you can have 3 fish at 20" or something like that!

Sounds like a good thing to me.
They're taking proactive action against the increase of commercial pressure by restricting permits

I heard they also are considering a limited entry next year with a control date of 2008.
