But for strictly jigging, my dogfight comes with me..The saltigas are a beast of a reel for jigging.. Mike P 05-25-2012, 11:03 AM I don't know, I'm not sold on the durability of the "second generation" Saltigas. I hear many more instances of them breaking than I ever did with the originals. Those things were tanks. zimmy 05-25-2012, 06:43 PM I know where a previous gen saltiga 6000 (or 6500, can't remember) can be had new for $680. Took alot of strength not to go for it. I can give details if you are interested. It is south, but they may ship it. dahark 05-25-2012, 08:39 PM im debating which to get but cant make up mind. want to use for plugging and jigging on my arra 126. any thoughts? I have both, 10000sw and 6000gt previous model. Both are incredible the 6000 is a bigger heavier reel and dont think you can get much better for jigging the canal, which is what I use mine for and bigger/heavier baits. The stella would probably handle both but I use mine for plugging and smaller swimmers and tins. I wouldnt want to plug away all day with my saltiga it will wear you out!!! vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
