VS 250 or a ZeeBaas 27/25 would go nicely.

Could go with a saltiga if you don't plan on dunking it.

I like how easy the vs and zee reels are to self service

There's no reason why you can't dunk a Saltiga. Sealed body, sealed drag, sealed line roller bearings. Cranking it under water might be an issue, but they can be dunked without worry.

4500 size is the right fit for that rod. If you go with a used first generation reel. In the new Saltigas, the 5000 is probably what I'd go with.

on 10fters i use a vs200, but the 250 would be fine. regarding the saltiga. My saltiga surf was the biggest waste of money for me ever. When it works its great but the problem is it never works, it has gotten sent back quite few times

200 or 250, personal preference. i use both on mine. i'd make the decision based on what other rods you might put it on. 9' rod, go with 200. 10'+ rod, go with 250. Or try both and see which you prefer.

as others have said, if minimal dunking and no swimming, saltiga 4500z (older model) is a great reel. new model is big $$, and the reviews i've read are not great. my experience, reeling any reel underwater will lead to issues, especially under strain. VS will make it through the season but will need work. mine has had significant rust inside.

Huge difference between the Saltiga Surf and the "real" Saltiga. ;) In addition to the $400 price difference.
