Well, I thought I'd get my engine back together today, NOT,
Head went on fine ,timing belt went smooth, went to put on the tensioner for the timing belt ,tightened it down to the spec's
went for the final adjustment and the f'n**** thing stripped out of the head. So I took everything off, went to the machine shop closed holiday weekend I'll have to wait till tuesday.
So much for a shake down cruise on sunday. Think I'll buy some bait at MIKE'S and go to the canal !:smash: :af:

just to read that made me cringe... Sorry that happened to yah!
i avoided that on an engine by always making sure nothing was binding
as i "slowly tightened each side"...and sure enough the first time it was...so i started over until i got it right.... chin up ....

Thank's for the reply RAVEN, the guy that owned the boat b=4 me did the timing belt he must have stripped half of the threads out ,I thought it was a recessed thread design.
There's plenty of room on the head to re tap to a larger size. Just another set back. Went to the Trophy dealer and checked out that 2052 I want , it kinda got rid of the blues, the adult beverages helped also. I had a designated driver I married her 23 yrs. ago
Later , LINK
