I have a cabo 40 for my backup reel and love it. I used it heavily for a few years until I got my VS 150.

After the first year I had it, I took it apart to do my my post-season clean and lube....realized they don't put much grease in them. So, I packed mine full.....never had a problem. I had issues with the bail at the ditch throwing 4 and 5 oz of lead....but I don't think it's the ideal ditch reel anyways. No complaints other than that. It's still runs smooth after taking a beating......7 years later.

my borther has a 40. I hate it mostly because he always tells me they are better than my van staals at a faction of teh price. that annoys me. But he has had problems with the AR failing and had the whole bail system break

Cabo 80- had my bail snap, cut it off, finished fishing. Sent it out for the free replacement and added a note saying I was disappointed with the oxidation of a couple scratches, got a brand new reel at my doorstep this morning. Besides not being able to dunk it, I love it, we'll see how this bail holds up though

Pieces of crap!
I own 2 60bts bait teasers. BOTH bait teaser functions failed withing the first week. With very light use.
one of them fell overboard, so thats not an issue anymore. But the other one, just the other day, the bait teaser adjustment knob. backed itself off and fell overboard rendering the reel nothing but a pile of shiney parts.
Never again.
Going with Shimano next time

I wore one out in 3 years.. all the TLC in the world couldnt save it...it just wore out.. one of the finest light line reels I have owned...... I loved it until then...I now am using a Penn conquer.. it's the smoothest reel I have ever owned.. MUCH smoother than my Z-bass... the drag is awesome as well... I't's on it's second tour of duty( season) time will tell all...

3rd season with Penn Conquer. No complaints, smooth function, smooth drag, just minor maintenance yearly.

After you flip the bail spin the rotor around till it can't go anymore, then you can throw it as hard as you want without worrying about bail flip. The handle on the cabo is heavy and it wants to spin mid cast,so spin it all the way around before you throw it.

I saw a picture of the 2013 Cabo in Sport Fisherman mag. It resembles the Smoke and the other new skeletal reel, esp. the handle.

Looks cool- hopefully it will be an improvement in other departments aside from aesthetics.
