Two Providence Man Charged for Fight Over Fishing Spot
According to police, a fight over a fishing spot at the University of Rhode Island Bay Campus led to a pair of arrests at about 6 p.m. on June 19.
Carlos A. Zuniga, 39, of 161 Glenbridge St., Apt. #2, Providence, was arrested and charged with felony assault and disorderly conduct.
Dicxon Alexander Gonzalez, 20, of 73 Althea St., Providence, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Police said that based on statements from two witnesses, an argument between Zuniga, Gonzalez and a third man escalated, and Zuniga allegedly pointed a knife at the third man.
According to witness statements to the point, Gonzalez was swearing and yelling at the third man. As a result, he was charged with disorderly conduct.
Police said that a language barrier made interviewing the subjects somewhat difficult. However, the fight seemed to be about a fishing spot on the rocky shore at the exterior of the Bay Campus. Police said that URI Security also responded to the scene.
