View Full Version : Those of you with daughters...
BMEUPSCOTTY 07-02-2012, 09:39 AM How many times have you had that moment that puts a lump in your throat, realizing they are no longer little girls... I've had a few, mostly at any chorus concert where she has had a solo... She's been loving being in chorus and drama productions at school, so we didn't hesitate when she asked a few months ago if she could take private voice lessons. She told me she had a solo coming up at awards night a few weeks ago... glad I got there early enough to get in the front row, but after the first 3 or 4 words, I was wishing I had brought some sunglasses... Seventeen years... where did it go?!? :bc:

My daughter danced from age 4 to 18. Went every year to her recital and loved it. Now at 24, she just joined a small group and danced Sat nite. Loved seeing her enjoying her dancing again.
Moses 07-02-2012, 12:04 PM Thanks for sharing, you should be proud!
ProfessorM 07-02-2012, 05:07 PM awesome talent. Congrats. Lots of hard work there I'll bet. I have an 11 year old daughter who sings and plays piano since 5 and I get more nervous then her during recitals. I hope, pray, that she enjoys and continues with this for the rest of her life. I need someone to entertain me while I am stuck on the couch in old age. Thanks for sharing.
BMEUPSCOTTY 07-02-2012, 06:21 PM Thanks for all the kind words... You bet I'm proud! She made "States" this year and last year, and got an All-Eastern nomination this year, which I think she has a real good shot at... unfortunately we'll have to wait until November to find out. I should also mention she received four awards that night (top student in four of her classes... two of them were music classes, two were AP classes) and I honestly cant recall the last time I saw a B on her report card. Can't wait until her senior year... wait, did I just say that?? :wall:
Jackbass 07-02-2012, 07:45 PM Wow! What a great kid. Congrats you are obviously doing something right. With a 1 year old at homei can only hope she can achieve like your girl has. She should really consider interviewing and auditioning for the Conservatory. She has an amazing voice.
