Sprained my leg pretty bad and need crutches for a few days.
I called our Volunteer Ambulance Corp as they have always lent them out
short term. No more because of Liability!!
Can't believe anyone would sue a volunteer organization for a loan in the
advent something was faulty, but I guess some do. :(

they have them on craig's list free section quite often
and i've seen them at good will stores too
sorry to hear about your ankle....
having some whey protein shakes helps speed up the process
faster rebuilding... sprains are worse than breaks as they last longer
don't rush it...

Dave - sorry to hear this. Seeing as you live far from these offers (joisey) let me know how much it is to rent them and I'll take care of it. By the time we shipped them gown you might be healed ;)

Speaking of healing, heal up quick :btu:

WHILE WE'RE ON THE SUBJECT sLIPKNOT dAVE AND OTHERS
OOPS CAPS

i fully endorse the product DR Fred Summit
arthritis & Sport penetrating heat rub
made from epsom salt and alcohol
that costs only ONE dollar per bottle
at any dollar store if you have one near by.

It's not overly smelly doesnt stain, it's liquid (pink)
and it cuts the pain down by 50%
i'm telling you... as i use it allot on my shoulder, back and ankle.

it's not at all like bengay or any of those nasty creams that make your eyes burn or fume ya to death...
worth $10.00 per bottle yet it only costs a BUCK

i'll never be without it

Ice, ice and more ice for 72 hours was the only thing that helped.

One thing for sure, I'll never take being able to walk for granted again.
Not being able to do what you were able to do before is the pits.

now, just imagine if it never went away.....
and it resurfaced every other day
but the most hurtful thing......
was when wearing a cast on crutches in the store one day
you become the invisible Man- a ghost
where people pretend Not to even see you

I had the advantage (if you could call it that) of having all my sprains when I was a kid.
Now I'm dealing with the effects they had on my knees and ankles.....ostio-arthritis.
Man, would I like to be able to run again, but I'll take brisk walking any day of the week nowadays.

As my doctor told me when I hit foty and mentioned a few aches and pains that I hadn't had to deal with before: "Sucks getting old!"

"Sucks getting old!"

Ya, for sure FT unless your lucky enuff to stay healthy.
Bet when you were a kid a sprain lasted 5 days now at my age
more like 5 weeks at best.

well Tim, the advantage is

we know when it's gonna rain without turning on the TV.
