Thanks guys. Just shy of 41 #'s and taped out at 48 inches. Tried reviving her for a while but it wasn't in the cards. Hit a 30-pounder about 15 minutes later that I was able to revive and then JLH landed a 34 after that. Here is a shot of my 40 (right) and his 34 (left). :fishin:

Really difficult reviving fish with the water as warm as it is. I think they build a lot of lactic acid and the warm water prevents dissipation.

I had one about 28# the other night and it took a good 10 minutes moving here back and forth before she could swim on her own. I hate to think of one going belly up after reviving but I'm sure it happens.

This fish was brought in through a nasty boulder field and got pretty banged up along the way. My leader and first few feet of braid were all chaffed up. I spent a while on her but every time I let go, she rolled over and gave up. As I intened on letting her go from the start, I never took her out of the water for weight or measuremnet until I knew it was a lost cause.

Toby, at least she will not be wasted. If you let her go and she died the seagulls and crabs are the winners.

Congrats on the fish. Beasts!

Couple weeks ago I revived a good fish. Swam off after a little while of the back and forth resesitation. Motored back for another drift and 2 min later there she was belly up. It sucks but it happens, good thing i was in the boat so I could grab her for the cooler. I bet especially at night you dont even know it but shes washing up on the rocks 40 yrds down from you.
