I'm heading to the cape in a few weeks, and i'm so used to fishing with large bait, bunker, mackeral, etc that i use large 6/0 - 8/0 hooks. I want to use sand eels but i know/think these hooks are to large? what would be a good all around size hook i could pick up that could handle a decent size fish (i know, no fish in MA) and will work well with sand eels. Also, would you use them on a high/low rig, fish finder rig, etc. Maybe i can be the 1st to catch one
thanks much

i used 3/0 and 4/0 bait hooks. high / low rig from beach.
Make an s with the sand eel head down on the hook,
Good luck.
I use to use a fishfinder rig, but that's just my personal preference...

Thanks guys
Bart, when you used a fishfinder rig, did you use those one of those pretty little floats or you think it made a difference? i have used them once in a while with bunker chunks, but have used with and without and haven't really noticed a large increase in catches. Just picking the brain

Use a Hi Lo rig with 6/0 Circle hooks
You can also use 6 inch slug-gos in Arkansas Shinner
