I've been using this stuff for about 3 months, and I like it.
The method I use for general filling of pits, etc is to apply Timbermate to the blank while it is still on the lathe (post-sanding). After sanding the filler I apply the pencil marks.
Because Timbermate is water-based, the solvents in the sealer do not dissolve it (and the sealer still penetrates well).
The first coat of primer rarely shows any pits following this process.
