My 6 year-old son is dying to go fishing 1 more time this season. I'm thinking of playing hooky and doing a half-day charter in southeastern CT or RI. I'm thinking a bass/bottom fishing charter might be ideal.
Any recommendations woud be much appreciated. Need a family-friendly captain. I'd rather have a 6-pack type boat than a center console.

Blaine Anderson - CT Guide Connecticut Fishing Charter / Guide - Long Island Sound and CT River (http://fishingct.com/) He does run a CC but watches weather/wave forcasts etc. Give him a call and you can explain what you are looking for and decide based on that, or he might point you to another guide if it doesn't fit the bill. Just my 2cents.
My vote is block island Fishworks. Chris has 2 young kids and is great with charter kids..
