Taxpayers "may" be forced to pay public employees to keep thier offices open on Evacuation Day and Bunker Hill Day!

Can someone please explain why we should pay for an office to be open when they get paid time off for that same day?
Sounds like a "double-dipping" scam to me, you know, getting paid twice for the same job by different employers.

If anything WE should be getting paid by them for having to endure the problems WE encounter when they get those days off and no one else does.

Simple solution: either make them both NATIONAL HOLIDAYS, or make everybody work those days as a regular day. There cannot be a third option that will be fair and make sense to any logical TAXPAYING citizen!!

Suffolk County Only right. and yes it is bogus, except that the meter maids are off so it a free for all parking downtown

That would be OK but since the rest of us have to work, driving into the city would be a nightmare at best.
