His only injury, he couldn't have hurt his head anymore than what was allready damaged, was he fractured the base of his spine "L1".

Not the same thing but...2 years ago leave the office, go out to my car, get right next to it and step on black ice. I was parallel to the ground about 5 feet up and came straight down HARD. What did I do? Jumped straight up, got in the car and THEN checked for broken bones. Just had the wind knocked outta me and some good bruises.
