Days after MMJ laws were approved by voters, this happens... Eelskimmer should stock up on all the Hostess and Drakes he can find and sell them from his proposed dispensary.

Yes, there's clearly a parallel between banks that make the economy function and the humble Twinkie.

Not to make this too political but doesn't anyone else find the use of "Never Forget" a bit off color?

Who cares about Twinkies. Its the Hostess Cupcakes and the Ring Dings and Funny Bones I'll miss. I think Twinkies died a slow death beginning when they became the brunt of so many comedy jokes. It was suddenly unfashionable to be seen with a Twinkie. :)

I can't imagine that someone will not want to pick up those products and make them somewhere. Seems clear that there is a demand for them and that people think they can be profitable if they get out from under the existing union/current manufacturing situation.

they are filing for liquidation because one union will not budge.
Any bets that the new owner will be non-union, same jobs but lower pay and benefits?

well, that, and the top 10 execs made close to 50% of the money... damn rich union bakers...

But first there will be no jobs for 18,000 and no hostess cupcakes for 200 million.

I belonged to bothg the United Grocery Workers and the United Steel Workers. Both screwed me while I was a member. If you ask me whatever union will not bidge is now screwing 18,000 Twinkie makers out of a job.

At one time unions were a good idea. I think that maybe now they are a big burden and cost more jobs than they protect.

600 pct raise? I wouldn't need an Obama gift.
