Just got done watching the DVD last night. It's pretty good.

Some good footage of actual fishing.

The best part is the old school guys talking about the beginnings of montauk and how insane the fishing use to be.

It's worth a watch, it's filmed well, and as far as fishing videos it's pretty good.

No scene cuts of guys fighting fish and using two different rods or crap like that.

Interesting video. Lots off history documented. During the interviews, one common theme was complaining of crowds today...between the surfcasters, surfers, boat guys, cell phones and internet there is not much elbow room when fish show up and problems with etiquette. It seems today the younger generation does not have that virtue. In the past if you saw an older guy or group of men working a spot, you gave them plenty of room or just left and let them have it. Today there is a sense of "spot entitlement" and someone will walk up and cast right over your line and not think anything about it. ("I have every right to this water as he does" ), I like the scene of the guys sharpening the sides of the hooks to cut anyone's line to crosses. It is cut throat out there today. The quality of the video is excellent and it is enjoyable to view.

The same stuff happens at the Ditch. I think it's easy to say the younger people have no etiquette, but I see just as many adults acting like children down there. I think it just comes with the territory. Wherever the fishing is good and the access is easy you are going to see these issues...

Iam looking forward to seeing the video I think a lot of the the newer fishers that have takin up the sport in recent years lack a mentor. When I got into the sport it was a thing you needed if you wanted to go anywhere the Internet wasn't around so you needed someone to teach you about the sport.

we all missed the those days but who is to say that the future somewhere might be just a bright..we just have to find it
Montauk in the spring has no more casters than the fingers on your hand...the rest of them are at Ditch :rotf2:

There was probably no one out today. I hit all the spots between Cupsogue and Amaganset and didn't see anyone fishing today. Only saw a few gannets though, so it wasn't promising :(. I was out there Veterans Day weekend, and it was a ghost town.
