I got a new modem in the mail, the plug and play easy to install instructions did not work. So I call comcast, after the series of prompts I get a representative, they put me on hold, then the call disconnects.

call back, get a representative and she does the magic needed to get internet working, but phone is not, so .. please hold while I transfer you to phone activation ..... poof ... disconnected again.

2 more call backs ... get the message "higher than expected call volume will lead to longer wait times" on to scratchy hold music then each call gets disconnected.

I got through and am on hold now, the representative has my phone and promised a call back if it disconnects. I wish I could record how bad the reception is on this hold music.

going on 1.5hrs now still no phone, still on hold.

This is what I'm paying over $2400 a year for ... what a sucker I am!

last mile companies usually do. I'll never get FIOS in my neighborhood as all my utilities are underground. I'll have copper forever, or a dish.
I really don't want a dish i may be forced to get it just to get internet.
F cable tv. I'm almost to the point where I am going to pass on that.

I have all underground utilities in my neighborhood and FIOS lines were put in a few years back. Crew with pitch forks and shovels dug a trench on the “Odd” side of the street. I’m in the even side but they dug up some of the lawns across the street pretty good.

I think Verizon is cherry picking, the town comittee told them off a few years ago

My mum lives in Mansfield off a side street, off a side street, off the very end of West St. - IE. in the middle of nowhere. 10 Residences on the street and she got FIOS two years ago but my friend a half mile away isn't expecting any time soon. Verizon was in the process of putting it in a while back and then stopped.

Gotta love how the town committee can sign sweetheart deals with Comcast and regulate monopolies.

I can walk to the Norton line, the town committee is definitely in the mix, however, FIOS also wanted certain guarantees

If fios is in Mansfield you will eventually get it. They build out all of the Aerial and easy to do stuff first, they usually have to have the whole town complete within 3-5 years. Underground and direct buried is usually last.

The contracts with the towns are cookie cutter, they wont be buying police cars and fire engines to get into a town. If the residents want it they should hold the towns responsible. The hacks want everything fo nothing.

Verizon is a friggin' nightmare to deal with :af:

That can be said about a number of companies Comcast included. everyone has a nightmare story about one company or another, they all deal with millions of customers and no one can be perfect.

I want my friggin' World Fishing Network that i've waited on the phone for an hour to get numerous times, that repeatedly disappears. I will not resort to watching reality TV this winter, i'd rather put a gun to my head :wall:

FX has some pretty excellent shows coming this winter.

The misses and I have been watching American Horror Story and are glued to the tv for each episode.
