Jorge Mariscal an illegal immigrant recently had a kidney transplant at the University Medical Center in Chicago...two other illegals R being considered for for liver transplants at the same hospital all being paid for with our tax dollars....kidney transplant had cost approximately 250 thou plus Mariscal will be on rejection medication the rest of his life costing 10 thou or more a month...he says "why can't we all be treated the same."...he was getting ready to go back to Mexico when he got the word that he would have the transplant in U S...

Approximately 94 thousand AMERICANS R waiting for a kidney transplant every year....only about 28 thou R done each year....approx. 4,500 Americans die waiting....why should this illegal go to the head of the line

How many children does he have? Perhaps he is just being rewarded for increasing the base of voters.

Not saying its the right thing to do but your facts are off...

he did not go to the head of the line....he waited 8 years. The Kidney also came from his own Mother.

The surgery is not being paid for by our tax dollars. Loyola University Medical center paid for the surgery and his 1st year of Anti-rejection drugs are being paid for by the Simon Bolivar Foundation, a medical nonprofit. After that he is on his own to pay for them.

Why don't you find out and let us know....or you can assume.

According to the Story his Church has been holding fundraisers to help with his future medical cost the past 3 years...maybe we can assume they were helping him before that....

most kidney transplants come from a close blood relative .....the hospital did operation for so called free(tax payer dollars)most hospitals such as the medical university do get tax dollars....he has raised thousands, is it 10 thou 100 thou...he has applied to the Simon Bolivar Foundation to pay for his meds....the church has had fund raisers and has raised some monies would probably be included in the few thousands that he has raised....I'm surprised that the university is using anti rejection drugs....new method is to use bone marrow from donor when doing the transplant and patient would not need the rejection drugs...then againthe bone marrow treatment is new and may not work for every kidney transplant

all hospitals get tax dollars...most hospitals also get donations....bottom line is one of the approx. 4,500 Americans that die each year waiting for the kidney transplant and some that could not afford the operation still should have been given the opprutunity first.

So his mother should have given her Kidney to someone else besides her own son first?

or should those 4500 other Americans have made their mothers give one of their kidneys to them so they could get the surgery?

Nobody said that the mother should have given it to someone else.

Doctors have this little oath that pretty much all of them adhere to. The first line is, "first do no harm". That might explain this somewhat. And probably most of the people these doc's see are in the same boat. Why did the mother make him wait eight years?

Good. He has a working kidney, now send him home.

I never understood this crap. He's illegal. It's all over the news. Everyone knows where he is. After his recovery, send ICE in, put him in cuffs and send him back into Mexico.

Make him pay for his anti-rejection drugs down in Tiijuana and let the cards fall where they may!
