Isn't it amazing that they all say the same thing and are experiencing "unusually high call volume" whenever you're calling, even if its 2 in the morning?

Well, Microsoft, so kinda.

The first guy was a little better than me - I'm hoping the new guy is way better than me.

Whats the Problem you are having? A Lot of Geeks on the Website

A (nice) client that had a server corrupt, lost sysvol/AD items, last good backup was early december, last not overwritten backup was middle december, Exchange won't start, files missing, IIS damaged, a few other things. Server kept running until a power outage promoted UPS shutdwon and failed restart end of last week. Worked on it until 3:30 this morning. Now for Round 3

SBS = All Eggs One Basket.

Nice, but poor client, could not (or chose not to) afford ongoing maintenance so the last time I looked at the server was probably October, and maybe August before that.

Its amazing where people skimp on the $ and cry when stuff breaks, sometimes the expect magic when there is none to be had.

There are way to many cheap solutions out there for back up and redundancy now a days for people to not explore or engage these options.

My empathy level has steadily decreased over the last year.

I recently had one of our IT infrastructure people tell me the our set up is about 80% "cowboy" and only about 20% done properly - all because of budget constraints...
