There is a Red X on a rock down by..... Ohh, sorry.

Here is a spot to burn on the net - Hull Gut - best fishing around for a place you can back your truck up to and never get wet... And yeh, I have spots and I'm not giving it to you (well, I'll bring you there but I'll confuse you driving in) - Actually, we were fishing where we could see you Saturday night...

Jenn, I had quite enough of that all Tuesday night thank you:yak:

John, I know where you were but I couldn't cast that far even with the wind. I thought of going there too because of the wind direction but we ended up ok, it just wasn't in the cards for the big girls that night.

Come on I know there are more willing to help out here :)

...I even added a picture for ya Slip..:)

...the only problem with this spot, is that it's HAUNTED :eek5: :err: :err: !!! If you look closely you can make out the image of the evil spirit that inhabits these rocks. He is mostly seen during the day-light hours, but does his mischief thru-out the early hours of the morning. He is known to move the boulders under your feet while your walking...he also shovels sand over your boots while your standing waist high in a sandy surf. He even moved my back-pack w/pluggage a few times while I was in the surf. Sometimes he even throws rocks in the water during those darkest nights to make you think there are fish breaking. A couple of times, he even wrapped my line around the tip of the pole while I wasn't looking. If any of these things have happened to you, you too may have been a victim of the 'Rock-Haunter' .. .that lurks our shores...I've started eating Chili from Wendy's to help keep him away...I heard it works like Garlic on Vampires..

Be safe out there, and keep your nose open for....'The Rock-Haunter'...

Mar T - it is a mind set. It comes from giving up stuff and getting burned. Time & time again. Besides - you're right, nothing really special about that spot anyway. Not knocking it just doesn't have trmemndous promise for big fish... Now I know you said don't try to explain but I'm gonna try anyway - read it and try to understand where some of us are coming from - thanks...
Wow - just saw all this. MarT - it's all about balance. If "Joe who know his crap" says ABC is on fire - 40 cars will be there the next night - 80 on a weekend. Fact of life. Half the spots I fish have limited access & limited parking and THEN you gotta walk 1/2 a mile to a mile to fish where you want. If I posted some of those spots, not only would I be a pariah amonsgt some of my peers the spots would be BURNED. "No Parking" signs would be up quicker than you can dunk some stinky old squid. It's already happend - Internet & Books burned spots, Access is being LOST, Year by Year there are more spots that you CAN'T access. So what do I do? Should I go and share what little of the not so well known is left? So instead of encouraging people to learn how to fish and to figure things out, I should point out the spot? Park the car for 'em and tell them what time to cast behind rock C?

A few years ago I was fishing one of my favorite spots that I'm so greedy for not sharing with anyone else. A place where there are certain unwritten rules with the neighborhood that are adhered to so fishermen & residents can coexist (that fine line before the "No Parking" signs go up). I ran into a guy there, chatted for a little bit. Until he told me that it was his 1st time fishing there, he was from Philly, and he heard about the spot on the Internet - I crapped my drawers. This spot CAN'T handle one night of being posted on the Internet.

Other spots are places shown to me in confidence by others, do I betray their trust by blowing a spot on the net?

More & more I see a progression of those that get "IT" and those that can't. Those that get "it" offer assistance to help anglers get better but don't hand over the kitchen sink and some don't get it and keep trying to give it away and others bitch that nobody is giving it to them. It's not being handed over on a silver platter and it shouldn't be. Give a Man a Fish will fead him for a day - Teach a man to fish will feed hime for life. Teaching someone to fish isn't knots and tackle and gear so much as it is encouraging someone to learn the nuances of fishing so they figure a lot out on their own. When someone starts learning stuff on their own and really start clicking - they can often do the same with other aspects of fishing...

Red - follow the watch as it goes side to side, you're getting sleepy, you're getting ready to spill yer guts on yer new spot....

john, i'm not stupid and i get your point but when people tell me to (do everyone a favor and take the map down) or(i hope you catch only blue fish) from there from now on or any other number of comments like the guy from quincy with 2 post telling me i just ruined his spot ??????? ......sense when did it become his spot? he wants to bitch about 10 cars in a 300 car lot. oh and to the guy who asked me to do everyone a favor and remove the mapsno and i'll tell you why i wont remove it. because i wouldn't be doing everyone but you a favor someone asked for it so i gave it.
now i hope this is the end of it because i'm going fishing and if you would like to know were ask me and i'll pm you

MarT - trust me when I say you'll be doing yourself a favor if you DON'T put maps up - besides, one of the 2 maps you put up (CT) you'd never even fished before.

I also find it highly unlikely that you would be able to map where I like to fish :) - and the old airport ain't on my maps :) . Seriously THINK about what you are doing, when your spot has a guy sitting where you spike your rod the day after you post on the net, you'll understand...

Here is a decent spot. We have never worried about too many people finding out about it. It is something about the toll booth ?

I am getting pumped up for the big surge that is coming any day here. Building lot's of leaders and sharpening/changing hooks.
