Have any of you used the gost sufix braid line yet? Seems like a good idea, but one never knows. I'm thinking about re-lining my spinning reels with this braid.

Its not something you really see, if you go to there website they have, its a fast sinking line good for crankbaits and jigging

Where can I buy it? I can't find more than 300 yard spools of it and that's not going to fill my reel.

Go right to suffix site, not sure if it comes with more then 300, just use a backer.

Might just get the camo or green sufix 832 and buy more. Going to make the switch this year from powerpro. But I might try the ghost on one of my smaller reels. You mentioned that it sinks fast. Have you casted with it or is that just something you looked up?

as far as casting its not like your super slicks or 832 type lines but its ok, i use it on fresh on crank baits and jiggs so distance itsnt an issues, and the line memory is fine as well.

Thats what i found out from my buddy who fishes it, thats why o wanted to try it.

I tried 50lb suffix braid about 5 years ago when the shop i was at ran out of power pro. Had so many line twists in my first 2 trips with it that I didnt have enough line left on the spool for distance. Respooled with 50 lb power pro and haven't even thought of switching again. Why mess with success. Get plenty of distance from power pro and its not like I have ever broken off a fish on it

I'v used sufix for about 6 year. Switched after endless problems with power pro. Last year i gave the 832, and slick 8 a try. Both worked well for me. I'll be giving the 832 ghost a shot this spring. I've found that most of the line twist and wind knots over the past few seasons have been during the break in period resulting from an over filled spool.

I'm scared to try the Suffix Ghost. I do a lot of fishing alone at night and "ghost" sounds a little spooky to me. I've never had any problems with PowerPro and will stick with it, but I suck at fishing so what do I know.

Suffix for me has performed well. The old power pro was good, but when they sold out, i had more breaks and wind knots so i got ride of it.

pp50, fresh/salt on 7 spinning reels no problem, samurai on casting/trolling because its round and thicker (not more abrasion resistant IMO) pp50 also ties modified Albright knot with good strength to 50lb floro. wouldn't go above that tho as line diameter disparity increases knot strength decreases

I used the 40lbs Ghost 832 on a 4500 sized Diawa last year and liked it. No problems at all. I also use the 50lbs on another spinning reel (Hi-Vis Green) and no issues...I swithced over from PP and plan to stick with the 832 for now. I've used Jerry Brown for high end stuff and this works just as well for what I do. (No hollow core or splicing)...

btw...I'm not really sure how ghostly the Ghost is but I prefer to be able to see my line where it meets the water.
