Raider Ronnie 03-08-2013, 09:16 AM My plow trucks are in Mansfield- Foxboro area (495-95) Been out here since 6:30 am yesterday. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device BigFish 03-08-2013, 09:17 AM Here in Hanover its still pretty nasty and snowing to beat the band at 9:00! Gusting pretty good and trees down here and there!! They are heavy and hanging low as well! PRBuzz 03-08-2013, 09:18 AM Still heavy snow coming down in the Brockton area, about 12" even with compaction. Trying to get cleared to head to RISSA shortly. Moses 03-08-2013, 09:19 AM Bridgewater received a nice foot of snow minimum. Caught me by surprise for sure. nightfighter 03-08-2013, 09:57 AM Plum Island tattoobob 03-08-2013, 10:09 AM We have a foot here in Billerica and we got an inch the last half hour I'm heading out in an hour to go to RISAA beamie 03-08-2013, 10:10 AM Haven't lost power yet in my part of Marshfield........which is practically a record of the way things seem to be around these parts. Have about 5" and still coming wet and heavy. Raven 03-08-2013, 10:17 AM headed out the WRONG direction (uphill) should have taken the flatter exit "doh" realizing i would get stuck i tried to back down the hill to the nearest driveway and the grade made me slide sideways right into a snowbank then I WAS stuck good.... walked home grabbed a shovel and dug myself out some things you learn the Hard way..... Jackbass 03-08-2013, 10:18 AM In the dirty Ster (Worcester) getting pretty hammahed again. I think the frame on my little plow is going to buckle by the end of winter Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device 5/0 03-08-2013, 10:36 AM My plow trucks are in Mansfield- Foxboro area (495-95) Been out here since 6:30 am yesterday. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Thanks for your services Ronnie We need the help,we got hammered here I just finished shoveling the driveway. In the last 24hrs. We received eighteen inches of the white stuff. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device nightfighter 03-08-2013, 10:45 AM We have ten inches anyway here in Marblehead, but the ENE wind is brutal.... Watched a neighbor spend an hour and a half clearing his driveway, and it is getting filled right back up. (He is a teacher and the local schools were on a 2 hour delayed opening, until they finally cancelled...) Sprayed PAM on the blower and will gear up with goggles and waders as soon as this wind subsides to below 20 knots. Bob and Buzz, you guys should really consider going to RISSA tomorrow.... 5/0 03-08-2013, 11:03 AM Sprayed PAM on the blower and will gear up with goggles and waders as soon as this wind subsides to below 20 knots. Bob and Buzz, you guys should really consider going to RISSA tomorrow.... Lol! I use have a snow blower and would do the same lube trick. I was considering going to RISSA later on today. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device ProfessorM 03-08-2013, 11:24 AM Still snowing good here too. No school today so I am home all day. RISSA on Sunday I guess. Roads are terrible. Good foot here and heavy as cement. Worse than last storm IMO as far as snow weight goes. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device fishbones 03-08-2013, 11:57 AM We had a good amount of snow when I left the house and the roads were lousy heading in to work, but once I hit the RI border it was a breeze. Maybe an inch in Providence so far and the roads are fine down here. I'll be heading over to RISSA later. I could probably walk there faster then driving from my office, but the sidewalks are probably a mess. johnny ducketts 03-08-2013, 12:13 PM slop here on the cape Mike P 03-08-2013, 12:20 PM All rain and wind around the Canal until early this AM. We actually lost more snow cover yesterday during the rain. Changed over sometime in the early AM today. Had about 2" when I left for work. Wife works in Quincy and was told not to go in. About 4-5" on the ground in Fall River when I left there around 10. Hard to say how much in New Bedford right now as the roads and sidewalks are clear, but it looks like only a few inches on the roof edge of the building across the street. Snowing hard enough that I can't see much of the harbor, and I'm only about 400 yards from it. Salty 03-08-2013, 01:15 PM We have maybe an inch here, you guys are having all the fun.:) BasicPatrick 03-08-2013, 01:41 PM Heavy wind and rain all day Thursday...woke up this am with 2-3 inches in Hyannis and its been mixed all day...rain in mix is washing out what is falling so we are looking at maybe 1 inch of slush with a bit of white on top...looks like we go back to straight rain first... Bad news is beaches are getting hit really bad. Balston has a full breach right at the end of the road. Nauset lost the front stairs and most of the walkway. East side of Nantucket eroded all the way to collapse the road (?Sconset maybe) Old Sandwhich Harbor is a mess...no one has been all the way out to see how it has changed Sandy Neck's brand new parking lot is feet from its first damage as the there is very little left of the dune as of this am I keep looking for a report on Wasque at MV...as of last week the mansion was only 200 or so feet from the cliff...word is they are bringing in the crew that moved the Hatteras lighthouse to move the mansion (basement bowling alley included) back a long way. RISAA on Saturday for me...first show I have not had to work in a looooong time The only good news I see is that these wet and snowy winters are what usually triggers a great Striped Bass Youn of the Year Class. Raider Ronnie 03-08-2013, 02:36 PM A bit over 32 hrs so far for each of the the plow trucks. I discovered 5 hr Energy work as advertised. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device BasicPatrick 03-08-2013, 02:50 PM From Sen Bob Hedlund Hull Access to most of Hull is restricted because Atlantic Ave, Bay Ave, and Hull Shore Drive are all closed. There is significant flooding along Gunrock Beach. Water is overtopping the seawall, flowing around the houses, across Atlantic Ave, and into Strait's Pond, Significant erosion of the beach and dune system along Nantasket Beach. Dunes were overtopped at U Street (north end of Nantasket Beach) and water was flowing around houses and onto the road. The sewer plant is discharging into the ocean on the bay side. Low-lying houses around the Ocean Avenue Marsh are being flooded near Bayview. Overtopping of the revetment at Stony Beach near the sewer plant has compromised the road. There appears to be new damage to houses and roads along Gunrock Beach. Access to the area is still limited due to flooding. Scituate Town Way Extension is completely flooded, so Peggotty Beach is inaccessible. There is a lot of overwash of the seawall and dunes flowing around the houses onto Edward Foster Road. The Cole Parkway area is flooded, with water up to the condos. Scituate EMD is in contact with the DPW director regarding the request to open the tide gate at Musquascut Pond (Coastal Storm Damage Assessment Team reported that water level is up over 2 feet from yesterday). Marshfield MANG actively working vehicle evacuation support missions Major flooding; roadway overtopped by ocean; 1 rescue of individual in water Brant Rock Road overtopped Foster Avenue roadway flooding Bay Avenue area; (30) homes flooded along the border of both Marshfield and Duxbury Duxbury Well being check by MANG support vehicle; Bay Avenue area; (30) homes flooded along the border of both Marshfield and Duxbury Raven 03-08-2013, 04:49 PM real warm temps coming along with rain so the flooding will continue via the rivers Higgie 03-08-2013, 05:15 PM 20+ " in my part of mansfield. Just saw on the news old Burt's restataunt getting hammers on long beach in Plymouth Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device striperman36 03-08-2013, 10:22 PM 18" here in Mansfield, melting nicely, not to bad getting into the uncleared driveway after an 7 hour jaunt from San Antonio nightfighter 03-09-2013, 08:47 AM Ended up with 14-16 inches here. Biggest rocks I've seen were all over the causeway when I drove over to the Neck to clear snow yesterday. Lots of melting already. Roof slide is imminent... JohnR 03-09-2013, 08:48 AM We got practically nothing. It snowed lightly almost the entire time but we got an inch of snow. Windy enough to clear parts of the yard bare, with drifts to 3" elsewhere. Storm mostly skipped RI but west, east, north got hammered. Raider Ronnie 03-09-2013, 08:52 AM You sure on that ? We got 22-24 Wrentham - Foxboro. I don't measure inches though. Just count hrs. We got 34. More than that so called blizzard ! Best thing. State has to write a lot of checks and most of it will be melted mid week. 18" here in Mansfield, melting nicely, not to bad getting into the uncleared driveway after an 7 hour jaunt from San Antonio Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device PRBuzz 03-09-2013, 09:07 AM Might be a while before the solar panels show through OR on nice avalanche onto the hot tub, it has happened before while using.
