Very very impressed. A perfect balance between a stong malt profile and a perfect blast of hops. At under $5 for a bomber, this is always going to be on my buy list.

While its made by buzzards bay brewing co, I'm 90% sure it's actually made by the people from Pretty Things Ale project, as they are tenant brewers at BBBC.

Try it!

I thought Buzzards Bay was defunct and contract brewing for Pretty Things etc...

Pretty things makes their beer themselves at BBBC.
It used to be "just beer" but the BBBC name is back.

Because pretty things is making their beer there, it's my assumption that they brew for BBBC for rent.

Has nothing to do with that,I just didn't think anyone was producing beer under the BB label.

Enjoying a Horseneck Golden IPA right now. Almost feels like I am drinking a dales pale ale at 1/4 the cost. ;)

That sounds good Nebe,do they sell in the 22 oz bottle or 12?
I would like to recommend the Lagunitas sucks.

Just bought another case of Lagunitas Sucks tonight. A winter brew that is bound to dissapear soon. Love it. Get it while you can.

What happened Jeff is BB had reinvented itself in 09 under the name "just beer". This name was recently purchased by the Science and Alchemy group in VT which is owned by Jim Koch and a fellow named Newman.BB now brews their own again as of Feb.9 as well as doing the contract brewing for Pretty Things. Visiting hours are saturday from 11-5 where you can hork fresh beer and take home growlers or the fresh cases for short $$$. 15?

Well aware of the story behind Just Beer, just wasn't aware the BB name was active again. Close enough to make frequent trips worthwhile.

I disagree about the contract brewing part with pretty things. They are tenant brewers there.

There's a big difference between contract brewing, where you don't oversee the process of having your beer made and actually making your own beer at a host brewery.
Personally, I thought the old buzzards bay beer sucked. The new beer is amazing, which leads me to believe pretty things is actually making it.

Wow, so can we believe ANYTHING SD says about beer anymore?

The old beer wasn't great. That doesn't mean the brewer didn't know what he was doing, it could have just been the business model.

So... I just did a side by side tasting between BBB IPA and Oscar Blue's Dales Pale Ale. I think BBB IPA is better. I hope that this beer never becomes super popular. :hihi:

So I stopped at the brewery on the way back from fishing. It was my first time there but will not be the last.Cool people run the place and they are happy to provide samples. The Golden Flounder was on special at 2 cases for 30 dollars (22oz) but it was not my flavor. They had 2 types of IPA and I brought home some Golden Horseshoe IPA,which is VERY tasty. My brother bought a gowler pack which is 10 growlers for 60 dollars a savings of 30 beans! The host said they have a few music events set up for weekends as well as a grill for bring your own purposes. After some conversation I learned he is also a disc golf player which means we have more than beer in common.

Fishing, drinking and disc golf. Sounds like a tough life you have there. :rotf2:

Nice. One day I will have to do the same.
My favorite is the IPA with the blue label and the buzzard logo. It's a true classic English IPA. Well balances between malt and hops.

I am a big fan of that IPA too Nebe but the Horseneck Golden IPA was a refreshing change and certainly worth the trip.If the sars align we could get Jeff there too and cook freshly caught seabass on their grill.

True that. My brother brewed for North American Brewing in Rochester. If you have consumed beers from Genessee, Pabst, Dundee, Magic Hat, Blue Point, seagrams, pyramid, mikes hard lemonade, etc etc, it may have come from that one brewery.

Spring Saison was sampled on Saturday. A Belgian twist with great balance and a moderately floral finish.
